Still hasn't bust £3.20, has it?

If it stays above £3.10 up to the full year figures - then I can not see it going down.

But then I am hoping for the takeover or good continuing divi increases.

Can't hold over £3.30. My £3 prediction looking good.

Just out of interest - people do not always realise what an asset Kielder Reservoir is.
It has a big Hydro Electric plant. NWG are also doing a Hydro plant further south at Selset to power at least a dale.

True Gateside, and reading some of the paper talk of the FTSE hitting 5,000 James may have the last laugh. Then again, defensive stocks such as this one should not fare as badly as others might if the mood turns really ugly.

It is my belief that 300p will present itself.

You'll be waiting a long time for 300p James.

There are also technical factors . A break of 330p points to a retest of 300p.
I'm waiting for this to buy in.

Also perhaps it's because it's a long time to the next results that is surpressing the interest

May be adverse reaction to the Severn Trent fine, the thought of tougher regulation and difficult pricing review?

JayWood, no answers to a good question. I also am waiting with interest for a snippet that may have been found by some sleuth of a poster that will enlighten us.

Why the downtrend today?

OfWat has issued a Press Notice about its its approach to the 2009 price review, giving guidance for water companies on how it will go about setting price limits for customers' water and sewerage bills for five years from 2010-15. For details, see www.ofwat.gov.uk/aptrix/ofwat/publish.nsf/content/prs_pn0708_pr09approach

Very odd, especially as they were up 7p first thing today. Anything unsettling coming out of OfWat, I wonder?

Pennon bought a recyling company, perhaps it has been thought that NWG could have been a target?

Got out of that 350p buy a few days ago but only made £529. Silly me, could have made £700-750 3 times if I was quick off the mark.

Have been buying bits now and then and now have a £46 up position with a breakeven of £3.463. Will add as the share price falls until I hold a £100 position.
Intending to be a little more alert.
God help me.

A bid will come at some point though and I am happy to wait, but I can understand any taking a profit in today's Market.

Back in again at 350p. Cannot rely on bids. Decent profit and I am off.
