I see that 32000 shares were bought yesterday - one T trade, one L trade. Seems like larger buyers are starting to make a move...

Seen your old fave, Mayborn recently? We're waiting for a bid.

Puzzle for the day: What would you rather have...

Stock A: which would go up one week, then down the following week for an average gain (week on week) of only 1.35%

or

Stock B: does absolutely nothing, then jumps 20% every 3 months ?

? Stock B sound more 'exciting' ?

Actually, they're both the same. They both end up doubling in price after 12 months.

What's the point? I hear you ask. Daily/Weekly movement in price is largely just something to keep your 'interest' up and fool you into either thinking that your money is "working" for you or, alternatively, thinking that your money is stupidly "tied up" and being a wasted resource.

At the end of the day, you just have to KNOW that the stock is undervalued. And be willing to wait for the rest of the market to come to same conclusion. And if the price doubles after 12 months, but the stock is still similarly undervalued, then you just keep it for another 12 months...

Hi fozzie - dead link there mate - for me anyway in as much as I get a mac message saying no good.

As for money tied up in here - well I know what you mean. All I can say is you just don't know when this one will take off - and it is that illiquid that trying to buy any volume when it does motor - like 3K or more, is just impossible without paying a premium. So say it ticked up now to 167p and you want 5K - that's probably 169p you're going to have to pay - if someone isn't on the phone beating you to it.

I also belive that when a stock should have risen on fundamentals but hasn't risen for a long time, the end result is often when it does move it moves big, as the price is so far behind the reality.

So keep an eye on it and don't blink - I was tryijng to buy this 2 years ago under those circumstances and it was horrible saying to my broker 'buy at best' as the price rolled up like Lance Armstrong's milometre - very frustrating and nerve wrecking.

I like to hold knowing I'll catch any mega spike no matter what.

Hi Cr,

I've just taken profits in MCTY in the ISA and used the dosh to double up my MSI holding. As you say, let's hope we move north toward and through this year's results!

I have put some CKN away too. Are you holding these, or did you just trade the bounce last week?

All the best,

G

Does that qualify as a treeshake?!

All the signs are good - just needs a little interest pre-results for a breakout and fresh air to 200p and beyond.

can you believe a company doing this well, 100% growth pa, PE around 7 and in a sector where all others are reporting great performance and they are still at the same level they were 6 months ago!

Is the market dozing or what?

Non Exec Roger Lane Smith upped his holding from 53K to 88K at 125p too - a 60%+ increase - notsomething you do for a short term scalpin an illiquid stock like this while the company has been buying back recently at 146p.

ignored or what?

MM's not flinching on a 2.5K sell either - must be a further large buy being filled.

Breakout gets closer the nearer the results imo.

20K looks like a buy that moved the price and cleared a bit of stock imo.
