Took the opportunity to add 2 more chunks this morning. Now my 2nd largest holding |
50% upside from here. |
Yep, he did |
Wonder if Robbie Burns bought more here, flurry of buying just recently... |
Funding growth is a much better use of cash than giving it to us. |
Presumably (as significant shareholders) they see more benefit in reinvesting the cash in to growing the business, which is fine by me. |
The only negative is that the dividend wasn't hiked more. For the year, it's below 2% at current share price. |
A loser mentality |
Going by the volume quite a few sellers waiting on the results to sell, irrespective of the detail of the figures. |
Yes, would have thought warranted a larger rise than 5% but markets are still strange |
Looking great here |
Look at that cash pile! |
Incredible set of results future looks very bright perhaps a hint of management change aswell as there looking towards retirement |
Excellent results and strong order book, hopefully a positive reaction from share price today. |
It is encouraging the way old and stalled contracts are being reactivated everywhere, MSI are certainly benefiting for their share. |
Probably worth focusing on the current client base/contracts achieved location wise for the defence division. |
Don't think you have been reading the papers ! The right in much of Europe (France, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Germany,. Spain etc) don't think that more arms should be sent to Ukraine, and some have as good as said that Putin is a friend. It is exactly the same as in the USA where in a reversal from the 50/60/70/80/90 it's the democrats who are calling for increased help for Ukraine and republicans are saying no more. And there are even republican senators saying that Putin did not invade Ukraine !!!!The world has gone crazy. |
Surprised to see MSI hit hard but seems to be driven by just a few modest sells so more a tree shake I expect before the price starts climbing again. With the 'right' performing strongly in EU elections I certainly wouldn't expect any cuts in defence spending anytime soon. |
Wow. Poor day for equities again |
https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2024/06/malaysias-first-littoral-combat-ship-kd-maharaja-lela-enters-water/Always been on the cards to have MSI mounts but a massively delayed programme. LCS1 now in the water and being fitted (incl. weapons in due course). MSI DS30M |
Looks like it's been 22nd June, 28th June and 1st July they've announced results in the last 4 years, so last week of June looks a good bet. |
https://x.com/turkish_straits/status/1788059793187311898?s=46&t=xI2-gceVHgm-MOozUlV4uAA further 4 x FPB-98 Mk1 vessels being delivered making that 12 since May 2023 with up to 8 more to go, hopefully all within FY25. Proposed to each have 1 x DS30B mount each according to one source and assuming the mourns are delivered, this is another decent source of revenue for MSI during FY24 and FY25 |
I'd say June but tough to be specific on past performance.
I'd be surprised if anyone has any inside insight to the results, MSI are famously tight lipped. Last year the share price was really weak in the run up to Finals and they announced a £54m VSHORAD contract. |
