on the face of it, good update.

however ‘clever’ choice of phrasing/wording with ‘underlying profit’ quoted? What are they hiding from the market?

One house broker (Shore Cap) still has large size on the book to offload.

Be interesting to see how the market reacts to this.

'The Group expects to report revenue growth of over 18% compared to the same period last year,'

'The Board expects the Group to report Underlying Profit Before Tax for the period of circa £10.5m (H1 FY17: £6.4m).'

Some big buys today.

Anyone heard of immerson capital? They've gone above 5% holding.

the two house brokers are offering, SCAP in particular in size 25k.

Could be telling?

Got to say, the more I look into this the more it looks shaky - historically their trading updates don't seem to tally up with their actual results?! Once the final divi is paid the company will have about £4m cash/equivalents? £100m in stock inventory which must be at risk of fair value write downs if the current poor climate for the U.K. Car market continues? They quote in the last results that a glut of inventory from fleet operators is a good thing yet also advise that consumer demand is slowing...?!

It appears they may have maxed out their inventory at possibly just the wrong time.

"Gross Margins remaining in line with our expectations"

The pessimist in me would be questioning just what their expectations are and more to the point, do they match up to the markets expectations?

Jury's out, for now.

cautious but positive trading update today IMHO.

'rate of sales growth maintained and the Group's gross margins remaining in line with our expectations.'

Looks like new site openings are doing well:

'The recent site openings in Castleford, Oldbury and Sheffield are all continuing to develop and are building pleasing momentum.'

been taking a look at this one, along with other listed motor dealers. In short I think MOTR is one bad quarter/half year from trouble - margins are wafer thin and seemingly getting squeezed even further judging by the latest results - £100m more in revenue yet profit down?! In fact the company has disappointed right from the off, which makes the IPO smack of holders cashing in at the top. Cash and equivalents looks really poor too. With the uncertain climate in the U.K. Likely to continue, house prices just printing their first June decline in 8 years and a lot of anecdotal evidence that the used/new car market is slowing drastically, particularly at the upper end of the market - after an admittedly record first quarter - this is firmly on the watch list...

recovery in share price continues. future looks bright based on last trading statement.

200p next target but looking for 250p towards end of year (IMHO + very hopeful).
