13/9/2016 17:58 | Just bought in. And I am intending to stay long. For one very good reason: I always buy my cars there now. And have done for the past 8 years (4 cars in all for a 2 car family). Been very impressed with the all round package. Customer Service. Value. Integrity. On line experience excellent. Engaged employees. I have recommended it to my friends whoi bought cars there subsequently, and they have thanked me. This has all the hall marks of a very well run company from a customer point of view. And the Financials look decent. So its a win win. If their shares turn out to be as good value as their cars, I shall most definitely not complain. I fully expect this to develop into a stable, fair dividend payer. But to be honest, this just strikes me as an example of the type of decent business - that does what it says, does it well and treats its customers fairly - that I want to see more of in this world of flippin' online casinos, dodgy banks and rip off phone companies. And on that basis, I am quite happy to put my money where my mouth is! | ih_575193

27/7/2016 19:57 | I dipped in again to buy a few more as looking at the fundamentals and momentum, we should have a steady rise. | hopeful holder
19/7/2016 11:12 | A steady improvement now and I suspect this will continue to climb, albeit slowly, as it revers from the brexit fallout. The fundamentals are still strong and the extra forecourt will / should add to that bottom line. | hopeful holder
06/7/2016 13:43 | Well I guess if you are after a pullback today's drop is a starter. I'm wondering how much further this will go. | hopeful holder
06/6/2016 16:16 | I'm sure you will have find some levle of "pull-back" before a next hopeful rise. | durham dealer

16/5/2016 09:07 | As mentioned before I like this story very much and purchased 25,000 at around £2.16 on Friday afternoon as I think the numbers look pretty good and IMO this will only go up over the next few months. If you look at the attached write up, next month could see its acquisition of a car supermarket site and business near Birmingham go through. Furthermore pre-tax profit more than doubled in 2014-2016 from £7.7 million to £16.9 million with a return on capital employed averaging over 100% a year for the last three, the group's efficiency is also evident in its quick inventory cash turn of over 10.2 times. That means "in the absence of unforeseen circumstances" Motorpoint will announce an interim dividend with its half-year results for the financial year ending 31 March 2017, expected by 30 November. 13/5/2016 17:05 | Bought 25,000 at £ 2.16, I think the market has not yet realized that this stock can go much higher. Let's wait and see if I'm right as I'm not in a hurry to sell. | shareinvestment
13/5/2016 16:28 | Don't often get a fully listed new float which isn't bonkers expensive. The way the buyers are popping up over this in conditional dealings says this is headed miles higher. | sphere25
13/5/2016 15:03 | Like the look of this. Very appealing product offering 12 month old cars at great discount to new price (and Numis estimate 9% cheaper than competitors). Achieved from Motorpoint's huge volumes and relationship with fleet and rental customers ensuring supply of cars at attractive pricing. Impressive cash flow due to low stocks and working capital. Currently operates from 10 large sites, where it is now UK's largest car supermarket. Plans to open at least one new site per year. New sites achieve a positive contribution after all opening costs within 12 months and full payback of all capex and launch costs within 3 years. Recent impressive growth with Numis estimating 34% annual growth in EBIT over next three years. Numis estimates pre-exceptional earnings after tax were £14.5m in year to March 2016, increasing to £16.8m in current year. At present price of 215p, capitalised at £215m and represents current year PE of 13.5 - I feel pretty attractive rating with such growth prospects. | stuffee
13/5/2016 14:27 | No prospectus at the moment, but there are enough snippets in the announcement today to form a high level view: "The Group's revenue increased from £563 million for the year ended 31 March 2015 to £729 million for the year ended 31 March 2016, an annual growth rate of 29 per cent. In the year ended 31 March 2016, the Group retailed 52,400 vehicles, an increase of 11,000 in relation to the year ended 31 March 2015 when the Group retailed 41,400 vehicles. The Group has also experienced year on year growth in operating profit before exceptional items for the past four years; reaching £18.6 million for the year ended 31 March 2016, an increase of £8.1 million on the previous financial year." - Floated at £200m vs operating profits of £18.6m. - No major debt on the balance sheet according to last years filings and they also state: "The Group has maintained a strong balance sheet with an average net cash position throughout the year and at year-end" - Dividend policy to come into play too Operating profit in the £20 + million to come surely vs mcap at float of £200m - hardly very expensive, and with some bigger buyers popping up on the book, took an initial position this morning (rolling daily). | sphere25
13/5/2016 12:55 | Any details available for this £200m float profits ? liabilities ? pensions ? tangible assets ? cashflow ? capex ? dividend policy ? Can't find the Intention to float document Prospectus is unavailable and their Plc website is pathetic How companies can ipo like this is beyond me | spob |
