Edit: The flex training videos indicate an insulated bag with dry ice is used. Edit 2: Not all are convinced. "The Amazon grocery experience has another Achilles heel: last-mile delivery. Whereas supermarkets send out orders in branded, refrigerated vans driven by directly employed couriers, Amazon utilises its Amazon Flex driver pool, meaning orders arrive in cool bags in any old vehicle. “The problem with Amazon’s offering is the quality of the service it operates,” wrote HSBC in a recent note. It “simply isn’t very good, in our view” it added." | scotches

20/8/2020 18:30 | Johnwise.... Delivery to customers using Amazon Flex Delivery Partners is a great idea. Amazon owns 16% of Deliveroo also and Morrisons mentioned recently use of Deliveroo for grocery deliveries. Why is this important? It separates delivery logistics and associated costs away from Morrisons. This will allow rapid expansion of online grocery sales and Morrisons does not have to expand it's own delivery van network. In fact Morrisons may be able to dial back it's own van network and shift costs onto Amazon Flex partners. Hopefully this also returns better margins for online grocery sales Amazon Flex UK U-turn allows Amazon to invest in Deliveroo | muffinhead
