25/1/2002 00:10 | Bouncing 6% today from the bottom of a new upward trend? Good sequence of higher lows..... G. | garth
24/1/2002 22:19 | Marathonmike - I don't wish to dampen your enthusiasm & if you're a trader what follows is not relevant, but for those more long term bulls, the "superconducting materials" thingy can be a bit misleading. Yes, they would allow nil loss power transmission, only slight prob. right now is the cable has to be at absolute zero temp. or pretty dam close thereto. Maybe someone can comment but the last I heard the "superconductivity" thing was only ever going to benefit those of us lucky enough to be around in about 200 years. Of course some biotech may have found a way of doing that before 2202 | losos

21/1/2002 20:49 | Fundamentals for this long established workhorse of a company look good. Forward PE=13.8, yield= 4.38%. The graph has kicked off a support level at 180p. Corporate statement gives hope: "Morgan will continue to invest during the next two years in markets with real potential. These include telecommunications, computing, fuel cells, aerospace and medical markets. Recent product initiatives by Morgan include: -enhanced computer data storage where the Group can leverage its ceramics expertise to increase the amount of information held on disk drives -the development of superconducting materials which significantly increase the transmission of large volumes of electricity over long distances. -piezo electric automotive parking sensors -ceramic fuel injectors -components for SmartCars -the use of magnetic systems in anti-theft retail devices." Buying at 188p Mike | marathonmike

20/12/2001 09:43 | I looked at these last night and bought in today. It was hit hard by a profits warning a couple of months ago, the drop now seems overdone to me. The very high dividend looks safe, and the updated and lowered forecast per for next year is around 8, lowering in subsequent years. They have a very impressive website, worth a look for those interested. A truly gloval business, insulated from individual markets, so quite defensive. An excellent stable engineering base from which to develop high tech products for new markets such as fuel cell associated products. This will never be a quick money maker, more of a long term buy and hold for the best rewards imho. I would be interested in any other comments. | shy tott
19/12/2001 16:16 | Some big buys going through today. | shy tott

26/11/2001 00:17 | This one just popped up in a Metastock Explorer. They are a technical trading buy, IMHO, with a stop at 185p. Any views on the fundamentals? TP | the player

23/5/2001 08:19 | Can any of you wise owls out there shed light on why one of my fave shares has decided to shed some weight today? Am a little concerned. | filandcaff
18/9/2000 22:59 | I hold these, bought off the bottom on the basis of recovery post-restructuring. This is taking a long time coming, but I saw some positive comment recently, that I'll try to find; I should have logged it in, as I hold. In the meantime, the yield is good, MC has NAV support, and the PE is low...life could be worse, but should get better. Max the Pauper | maximillion
18/9/2000 13:15 | Recent article in (if I remember rightly) the FT, was quite positive on them. suggested that reorg was over and therefore things should begin to 'bed in.' I hold these. Very interesting chart and 6 days of straight gains (see Constant Gainers in toplist) makes me quite optimistic. | clem
04/9/2000 14:57 | MGCR not flavour of the month. Offshoot sold to Tyco for more than expected, but some analyst downgraded future earnings growth expectations which impacted on price. Don't know much about their specific products, but i know many ceramic engineering companies worldwide are completely over-run with work (mostly fibre optic specialists), which ought to benefit Morgan on some level. I'm interested in any associated product knowledge which is relevant. | jhan66 |
