NATIONAL EXPRESS GROUP PLC EMPLOYEE BENEFIT TRUST PURCHASE OF SHARES

National Express Group PLC (the 'Company') was informed on 9 April 2015 that First Names (Jersey) Limited, as trustee of the National Express Group PLC Employee Benefit Trust(the 'EBT'), purchased a total of 740,000 Ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the capital of the Company ('Share(s)') between 2 April and 9 April 2015 at an average price of 289.98 pence per Share.

Immediately following the above transaction, the EBT held 1,196,114 shares, representing 0.23% of the Company's issued share capital with voting rights. It is anticipated that all Shares held by the EBT will ultimately be used to satisfy Share awards and options over Shares granted under the Company's various share incentive arrangements.

The Executive Directors, namely, Dean Finch and Matthew Ashley, are included in the class of potential beneficiaries of the EBT and are deemed to be interested in the Shares and the dealings thereof.
