I dont recall seeing a reply to dell's post cr !

In a nutshell he had you by the short and curly's and you chose
to ignore his post !

The best you could do is drag up some past about Ptl !

This is how it is CR !

This site is absolutely finished....ruined...trashed....the sooner
advfn goes under the better.....most threads are trashed by loners....
you apparently have a good reputation cr...i dont see it....but hey ho
who cares....nothing anything gets posted on this site matters anymore...
i rarely post thesedays because it's not worth it....you and your buddies
tried to ramp this up yesterday and look what happened....everybody bailed
out....bulletin board posters is a thing of the past....nobody cares and
nobody falls for any spin.....R.I.P advfn....not long left before they go
under !

Daydreamer - I replied and I said lets wait and see the results, they can't be more than days off.

Now for all your bullsh!t and bluster elsewhere you are still the same Daydreamer. I note on the DVS thread you reckon the lowest of the low are those that return to knock a stock having sold. Still got both faces I see! I thought you reckoned you had sold and you were away. Having got pi$$ed of with your wreched whinging on the DVS thread you'll notice I haven't been there having a knock.

If you want to comment on something what do you think about PTL that I told you was going down the pan in the 20s when you were in love with it?

Results were 14th Dec last year so assuming the same date approx that's the middle of next week.

45K sold on Friday and the price never flinched so there's clearly a buyer about ahead of those results imo.

bbd,

If you keep a straight face you'll be laughing all the way to the bank!

More funds released next week for 'topping-up' purposes.

Results in a couple of weeks... ;~)

I think COGS means "Cook On Gasmark Seven" - but I could be wrong - it might be Six.

Evening all. Didn't like to reply to Dell's post because I should have had to admit that I have no idea what COGS is or are.

quotes - if I'm a pump & dumper then what about the shares I've held for longer then 1 year ? or 2 years ? or 3 years ? Don't have any longer then that because I moved to this country 5 years ago I'm afraid so I had to find my feet in the market. The longest shares I've held ( or am holding ) I bought in April 2003 just afer the turn in the markets. :O)

CR - You'll be pleased(or not) to know that I've now had a quick look at the WHI note and it appears to contain at least one grave error and one piece of very dubious assumption, IMHO.

Firstly, the note states:

"Although second half turnover was 10% less than the first half, gross margins were 13% higher"

This statement about turnover is correct but the statement about margins is completely the opposite of the true picture:

COGS was 39% higher at 78% in H2(cf 56% in H1) making gross margins 31% lower at only 22% in H2(cf. 34% in H1).

Bit of a major howler, eh!!

They then appear to have extrapolated their false conclusion and further reduced COGS to only 46% for 2007(cf. 66% for 06 H1 and 78% for 06 H2) and consequently increased Gross margin to 54%(cf. 34% for 06 H1 and only 22% for H2).

Therefore, they've more than doubled the GP percentage cf. H2 06's figure from extrapolating an error!

Clearly this extrapolation of what appears to be a grave error has a huge effect on the bottom line and consequently makes their earnings forecasts look like total twaddle, IMHO.
If they do have some other justification for their reduced COGS and greatly increased margins maybe the WHI note has some use but if their earnings forecasts are simply the result of error and dubious assumption(as appears to be the case), then this note is at best worthless and quite possibly dangerous.

Please double check my figures for your own satisfaction and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts now.

All IMHO, DYOR etc.

Rgds

Well Dell, you certainly seem interested enough for someone that doesn't hold. If I had your reservations I'd have crossed this off my list and moved on - I'm sure I can't be bothered to waste my time in some altruistic way trying to save others from stocks I'm not interested in.
