23/9/2010 16:03 | "I take it by the above that you have sold out then" Nope, my holding is now worth so little that I can't sell as my online dealing account will not allow me to sell a holding that is worth less than their dealing fees! However, the consolidation will mean by holding is cancelled meaning I should be able to use the loss against CGT. "Do you seriously believe that a total value of £8m for a club in the 2nd tier of English football based in London is fair value?" No idea. I do believe though that as a business with a track record of management failing to deliver for shareholders combined with dire fundamentals, that this share is worthless. E.g. Are those increased gate receipts / sky money going to pay off the massive amount of debt? (Note: The debt is twice the market cap!) That said, feel free to say "I told you so" should it work out as you think :-) | jfishy55
23/9/2010 11:57 | .........jfishy55 - I take it by the above that you have sold out then. There are a number of players on the book that have a value. They are not all on loan. I estimate the open market price for the team as a whole is close on £10-15m On a supporters website it was stated a couple of weeks back that the consortium running palace were considering making an offer of around £2.5m for Morison. Jackett has ignored it. There is huge development potential around the stadium. That is worth a few million to the club. There are increasing gate receipts due to being in the championship and also some sky money. There position at the moment would indicate they will get some money from the league sponsors that will go through to the bottom line. They are planning to trim down the share register (about time) and consolidate the shares. This will save on running costs going forward. The stadium is not leased it is owned - therefore it has a value. They are in the championship, not 3 miles from the City of London and therefore are open to a predator. Do you seriously believe that a total value of £8m for a club in the 2nd tier of English football based in London is fair value? I would not be surprised if some rich arabs haven't already run the slide rule over this. Add to the above, there is also the chance of a premier league spot. One must be optimistic in life, otherwise it wouldn't be worth carrying on. We shall see who is correct come next May. | smelgy
23/9/2010 11:50 | I'm amazed at your optimism Smelgy! The market cap is 8.3m - which means the company is massively overvalued as it has a turnover of £6.5m with losses of over £5m, owes £16m & has few assets. So here's a question: What do you consider are the companys assets & what value do you attribute to them. E.g. Stadium, land, players etc? | jfishy55
