PKF appointed as administrators to Millbrook Instruments

The Manchester office of accountancy firm PKF has been appointed as administrator of Blackburn-based Millbrook Instruments Ltd.

Millbrook is an AIM-listed company which manufactures scientific instruments used to determine the chemical make-up of solid surfaces. Its product range has been in development since 1995 and its customer list has included businesses such as Hitachi, Imperial College London and NASA.

All of the staff at the firm have been made redundant, but joint administrators Kerry Bailey and Jonathan Newell are looking to sell the business and assets of the firm and are "optimistic" of agreeing a deal for the firm.
