29/8/2018 08:12 | The share buy back programme period starts today too - should supply further support or hopefully buying pressure!? | cxs1
29/8/2018 08:10 | Now we know what they will be doing with the SUSE money. Looks like it will be swallowed-up in the machinations of the company. Hmmm... not sure it's a great idea for shareholders unless the share price really does undervalue the company now. Not sure I liked this bit in the last para. too much either: "To the extent that the Company purchases shares under the Programme, the Company's net debt at 31 October 2018 will increase by the amount of such purchases from the previously guided level of approximately $4.2bn, which guidance remains otherwise unchanged." Not clear whether this is interim while they await cash from the transaction or not. Hmmm... again. We live in Hope! | sogoesit
29/8/2018 08:03 | HP results yesterday in USA were good so will have a positive effect on us today. | losses
25/8/2018 14:56 | Maybe article was written when price was lower for the 6.4% yield | losses
25/8/2018 11:50 | Don't know the basis for the 6.4% yield quoted, Losses, but I make the current running yield 5.4% (69.49/1285). Anyway, I was going to wait for it to climb up above the long term trend line (26% CAGR) at around 1400 near term before selling out having lost confidence. However, having got rid of Hsu they probably have a good chance of turning this around even with (or because of?) the SUSE sale. Reviewing the 1400p sale decision would then not make sense really as the premise I bought it on that many years ago would be intact; a good, and growing, income stock. Furthermore it would return to my long term returns of 26% pa. Here's a summary of its dividend growth performance: Conclusion: probably sit on my hands and do nothing. Which is usually best investment practice anyway!! In retrospect I should've followed my nose when I saw the Hsu appointment but there we go! | sogoesit
25/8/2018 08:53 | Merger stumble At the end of last month, my colleague Roland Head labelled IT group Micro Focus International (LSE: MCRO) one of the 3 worst dividend stocks of 2018.It's easy to see why. After shelling out $8.8bn to buy the software business of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, growth has evaporated. In March, the firm told investors that sales would drop by nearly 10% for the year, four times faster than expected. Nevertheless, Micro Focus's dividend seems safe. City analysts have revised their growth forecasts for the company lower, but even on these lower numbers, it looks to me as if there's plenty of room to maintain the current payout. It's expected to print EPS of $1.87 this year, with a dividend of about $1 per share. These figures put the stock on a forecast P/E of 8.2 with a prospective dividend yield of 6.4%. It appears as if all the bad news is already reflected in Micro Focus's share price. Now could be the time to buy. | losses

23/8/2018 09:02 | Maybe when we learn what they will do with the SUSE money? I would like to stick, part of it, in my bank account, personally! This used to be an "income stock". I hope it returns that way some day. Payday tomorrow: 43.86p. | sogoesit

21/8/2018 08:17 | The problem of gap up is that MCRO always closes those gaps. So down travel to 1251 p I think. | umitw
