It is quite remarkable the short play here. . IMO they are desperately trying to create fear, drive price lower with a plan to get out 150 - 170p range. The oversubscribed bonds, VH stepping down made their planned exit not easy. If you look at the increased shorts and compare that to the amount of sells it helps you see the bigger picture IMOVery happy to see above 205p close today.

Listen to the vox podcast and that will reinforce the reason to hold. This is massively undervalued and when the shorts move on (which they will) this will properly rerate to a sensible level way north of here, maybe £5 within a couple of months if not sooner.

@quantiumresearch bond was issued for 350m not 550m as you state in your podcast which was used for your interest estimations. 550m was total interest on order book, not size of actual bond issued.

something caused the sudden change and a sharp rise in share price into close on Friday...keep them peeled, something afoot in the background...huge disconnect been value to be had and the crazy low current share price imo.

'We have to hope the fintech challengers fare better. Whatever the outcome for Metro, it would be a tragedy if, after all the scandal and disgrace, customers remain at the mercy of the Big Four.'

'The rumours that Hill is trying to take Metro private, presumably with himself at the helm, will make the search for a new chairman even harder.

Possible candidates include Lord Myners and Richard Pym, both veterans of the financial crisis and both involved in sorting out the Co-op Bank debacle.'
