The other thing I have noticed is the glitches in spread betting on the app. Screen freezing all the time and stopping you from closing positions, then mysteriously coming good again when the position has lost a tonne. So anyone that thinks the brokers are completely safe should reconsider if you want to have easy access to cash.

Just to highlight the early warning signs with broker accounts.... I have never had login issues for IG prior to last week. Now I am getting failures all the time. As we speak, I am getting login failures on the IG app.....their small print says that delays may occur as although ringfenced, they keep money on term accessible basis.
