Even Shawbrook bank got bought for £0.9bn (£5/ share for MTRO) . MTRO are the first new high street banking licence granted in 100 years - it is a very rare animal

SR. I respect how you constantly read the market and immediately alter your position. Your views are gold!

My style is different. I find undervalued stocks, stick to them till fair value and exit earlier than most.

100% return is a dream for many. But no where near MTRO true value. These opportunities don't come often. I'm happy to risk it till 600. Which is technically still too low.

I understand the game is not clear yet, and your target price will change once other variables are in favour.

I think they would have a different view on capitalisation

Watch out for the thunder after the sunshine

Id nearly bet their averages are somewhere close to todays price now. And they wont be greedy in this sector

havent been for 20 years

.....

their buys are just one number

they are working the derivatives, short loan premiums and all sorts

2000p fund buys are probably 200p average in true terms today

And remember, any TO bid has to come with some initial shareholder support to demonstrate credibility.

Its about the safe game though pione

Isn't 100% return enough?

A hypothetical TO value of £1.7bn (£10/share) is still 50% below standalone peak market cap, and they have only scratched the surface on the growth potential. Im my view, what matters most is what the large funds and institutional shareholders are happy with, and it wont be 350p. They can afford to be very patient, the bank is very well capitalised

Some of the easiest shorting money around post christmas , is in the livestock and meat/agriculture comms. A typical january banker. Can short via etfs etc but far better return in the company shorts Jan 1st to 31st

As soon as those comms rallies (example live cattle) go into distribute high mode, Ya'll make a stack . Hardly even need to monitor. Close out month end

This thread is laughable now considering just 350p as value for end game

Fuk that
2m customers £20bn assets
High st Presence
Clean sweep with new Ceo and Chairman as only interims in place
Potential Predator lurking

Screw that.
400-500p worse case IMO.

350p cheek

Would you go short on PMO? Even TLW bubble will burst shortly.

I am not pro like you SR. My zone is small.

Has Cohen sold any more since Bacal became single largest shareholder?

Maybe somebody is simply after a UK banking licence. And shall morph fairly quickly into a private bank for the top 1%rs . Also possible in the shifting political scene

Thats reasonable. He may well be fronting a consortium. Would make more sense to me

Bacal is now the single largest shareholder, and given his favourable track record in banking he may well be the best person to front any take private offer by VH's consortium. So maybe Cohen was simply giving way to allow Bacal to take spotlight, which may also help with FCA etc

"Bank sector will be the first short on the hedge books"

Till then oil sector is an attractive short.

"Bacal ever buy and break up a company in any sector/industry?"

No, he merged Sudameris and acquired more assets even from HSBC. Still going. Rather than breaking up a bank.
