Chart looking very good longterm. Over 60p in a week or so, I hope, then I'm FINALLY in profit... having bought in last time we hit 60p ;o)

Shame the budget didn't come up with any more radical measures to support "green" businesses but at least things are still going in the right direction.

Not entirely sure how they have calculated the bonus but if shareholder NAV has dropped from 55.79p to 54.90p, this represents a bonus of around 1.6% of the fund's assets. Assuming there are around 210million shares in circulation, then it would appear the total bonus is in the region of £1.9m.

I'm drip feeding into an ISA & they're also taking 1.25% as an initial charge. In addition to this there is also an Annual Management Charge which is 0.5% + VAT per annum. This is all in addition to the spread which admittedly is low for this stock. Guess if the share price outperforms (its the same now as it was a year ago) I won't have too many complaints.

Down on a bit over normal volume but no where near what I would say constituted a panic. The main holdings have been caught up in the recent market weakness (rightly or wrongly) and hence MNE has followed them down.

MNE should to a certain extent be insulated from the general economy - renewable energy projects will still go ahead even if the US consumer stops going to the shopping mall. So MNE's holdings should do OK despite any recession.

Also MNE is not a trading stock so I would not be worried about short term swings in the price.

Anyone here? Why the panic selling? The NAV has been holding up quite nicely. share price now about 2p below NAV, compared with the usual 2p above. Could be related to the talk of US recession? Anyway, in it for the longterm so I won't be selling until we're at least over £1.

A great signal as to the new direction of travel ... and likely very strong support for this market:

New information source, that states "This link focuses on companies with renewable energy interests and keeps you up to date with alternative energy news and developments from around the world."

From our perspective this seems to be targeted more at established oil companies which are increasing their alternative energy profile, rather than small technology developers

"Major leap forward for wave-energy technology "

REH up 20% on back of news from its wave program (5th Feb 07)

Wave-energy technology invented and developed in Western Australia has taken another step closer to commercialisation. Energy Minister Francis Logan today unveiled the first of nine pre-commercialisation wave-energy units that will be installed in the ocean off North Fremantle and thoroughly tested over the next year. "This new and innovative wave energy technology, designed to produce both fresh water and green electricity, has been developed in WA and has the potential to deliver significant benefits to the State," Mr Logan said.

Media-Newswire.com) - Wave-energy technology invented and developed in Western Australia has taken another step closer to commercialisation.

Energy Minister Francis Logan today unveiled the first of nine pre-commercialisation wave-energy units that will be installed in the ocean off North Fremantle and thoroughly tested over the next year.

"This new and innovative wave energy technology, designed to produce both fresh water and green electricity, has been developed in WA and has the potential to deliver significant benefits to the State", Mr Logan said.

"It is very pleasing to see this technology progressing to the next stage and used to support the development of a wave energy industry in WA.

"Wave energy is a clean, renewable source of energy that can produce electricity without producing greenhouse gas emissions."

The units, named CETO2 after a Greek sea goddess, were developed by WA company Seapower Pacific and its parent company, UK-based Renewable Energy Holdings.

The companies have invested about $10million in the technology and expect it to be fully commercialised within two years. They are currently evaluating several sites off the south-west coast of WA for commercial deployment.

"An array of the units will be installed about 250m off North Fremantle over the next two to three months, in time for the autumn and winter swells," the Minister said.

"The CETO2 wave-energy technology uses an underwater pump driven by the waves to deliver high-pressure seawater through a pipe to the shore. The seawater is then used to drive a turbine to generate electricity or passed through a reverse osmosis desalinisation unit to produce fresh water.

"The company has advised that one unit can produce about one million litres of fresh water every day and has the capacity to generate 180kW of clean electricity. An array of 100 units could supply 45 gigalitres of fresh water or enough electricity to supply 20,000 households.

"There is considerable global interest in using waves as a source of energy, with various devices being developed in countries like Norway, the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States.

"WA has an excellent wave energy resource available, with enormous potential to use this resource to produce clean electricity and fresh water."

Note: Renewable Energy Holdings is an international renewable energy operator and investor. It actively invests and operates in both proven and innovative renewable energy projects and currently operates a bioenergy project in Wales and windfarms in Germany.

Yes mainly CLE but others have perfomed well too. eg GML, VWS - both of which are traded on LSE and have performed very well recently & likely to continue to do so. BTW, I hold MNE, CLE & GML.

Everything carries some risk - MNE the risk is spread across 60+ investments.

Imagine if you had bought VLR at 80p or if it were to drop 75% again, from where it is now.

MNE is good - safe.

VLR is now up 30% today. Risky though!
