Not much help over here so far .........

Help for housing market boosts UK retailers

Shares in Britain's retailers surge, with home improvement groups Kingfisher and Home Retail among the biggest risers, after the government unveils a package to boost the country's slumping housing market.

'The sector's up about 4 percent,' says Kaupthing analyst Matthew McEachran.

'All the data coming out from a currency and from a demand standpoint, in terms of what's going on in the housing market, is very bad for the sector. So anything that could help towards that would be well received.'

Kingfisher shares are up over 5 percent at 142 pence, while Home Retail is up 4.5 percent at 266.75 pence.

Consumer electricals group DSG , which publishes a trading update on Wednesday, is up over 8 percent at 53.75 pence and mobile phone-to-broadband group Carphone Warehouse is up over 5 percent at 210.75 pence.

Morris now has no need to sell, DKNY is yet to come, and I'm sure morris wants his 8 million back...... if they can hold on for the next two years it might surprise all of us.... however there is a lot more bad news out there we are only 35% into the slump... I will buy a large chunk next year if MPH is still here

The shares Atlas now hold are as issued under the terms of the fund raising, they have not bought any additional shares in the market.

atlas now own 9%...looks like a bid being lined up....probably at a pittance but lets face it....if they were gonna 'steal' the company why bother buying the shares?

20-30p my estimate(unfortunately)

even the slighest glimmer of a recovery and this could be a 2-3 bagger just for starters....the current valuation equates to bust.

strange, waterhouse are showing this as having risen 2.75p today and closing at midprice of 16.25!!!!

I agree with russell, dkny would not be giving a 14year worldwide
contract if they throught mph weren't up to it, and it has more potential then
the old YSL contract

I think the key event was the tie-up with DKNY. Not because it will make a huge difference to the bottom line, (though it might), but because DKNY would not tie itself publicly to a business that might go belly-up. I'd lay odds they've done their homework on the books, and the Swedish money coming in is the clincher.

Word is obviously getting around that MPH will make a profit in the first half (as a guess), always seem`s to be a bit of a "leaky" ship.

The amounts are OK 68K from Plus market and 36K from LSE, and the last 25K buy at 4pm did not move prices
do not forget that the NMS is very small

Poor "momentis" had second thoughts about the last posting and deleted all.

Just too late, you have been doing that once too often, and you reputation has gone down the curb gutter for some time now.

re - right to repply

I can see you are still that nasty PUTA, event if MPH is moving higher.

Maybe that is the problem you do not want that, or it was the rounds down the street last night, were not good for business.

Don`t forget that this:-

"In the results for the period ending 5 April 2008, we had also anticipated a payment of £1.5 million in respect of the termination of the perfume licence with JCC agreed in February 2008. However, we were unable to recognise this payment as proceeds had not been received.
This money will be shown in the six months to 30 September 2008 as the proceeds have now been received in full."

will be in the first half results.
