keith95 - you're completely out your league, making inane comments about subjects you have little knowledge of.

Two friends and I, all longstanding industry professionals, collectively held over 500,000 shares prior to selling out last year at a considerable loss due to proving that many Company RNS Statements and Results Statements contained claims that were completely false.

For the record we do not short - if we did we could have made £millions from Mercantile!

"Why is it a trick? A shareholder is a shareholder simple."

I recollect TW buying 10 or so shares in QPP to try and attend the annual shareholder meeting in 2014 ....

... the "trick" is IF the purchase of shares beholds a hidden agenda to make an independent point and perhaps to make a profit by other means ....

... for example, by deliberately spouting dire information that might knowingly lead a third party to make a profit ...

..... all in my very humble opinion etc. :)

"For the record, we currently hold ten shares in Mercantile Ports and Logistics and ten shares in Cenkos securities - both predictably are underwater !"

.. this is the kind of trick used by ShareProphets to make the claim "Shareholder" ..

One might suspect we are communicating with Mr Tourettes himself .... :(

But you also posted yesterday in your alleged letter to Cenkos:

"A friend recalls the Mercantile Placing being included in an earlier listing but, it since has mysteriously disappeared."

So I suspect not.

So what do you have? A "friend's recollection" or a ScreenDump ....

.... or did you just get found out?

Pj1 - 'Purely as a marketing exercise'

As a minimum, you're probably right, it hardly makes encouraging reading to see Mercantile Ports and Logistics in your client list.

MT, Why would Cenkos remove the Placing info? Purely as a Marketing exercise?

We have in our file a printed hard copy of the Cenkos website Transaction list from January 2017 - no prizes for guessing what company appears on it as a November 2016 Placing entry?

Hence the correspondence to the Cenkos compliance executive copied to the new MD, asking for clarification.

For the record, we currently hold ten shares in Mercantile Ports and Logistics and ten shares in Cenkos securities - both predictably are underwater !

"As a Cenkos shareholder, why do you think Cenkos removed completely any reference to their third largest placing in H2/2016 and, largest placing by far in November 2016, from their website transaction listing?"

I don't know that they did. I searched for it as you know and could not find in on the web site. I don't have a ScreenDump to suggest otherwise.

Do you? Meanwhile, are you suggesting that the FCA fines Cenkos for removing the MPL placing if it did exist, on its web site?

The FT makes the point:

"Investors rely on a company’s nomad to inform them and police the behaviour of boards and businesses. "

Nomads are not the "Police" I'm afraid - so their powers are limited. Cenkos may strongly suspect that MPL are less than transparent in their publications, but unless they have direct evidence what do you suggest they do? A suspicion - even from a bunch of extended e-mails/letters, is not by itself evidence.

Meanwhile, you can still buy/sell MPL shares ...

... should you also sue AJ Bell for selling those shares to you given the available "market information"?

PJ1 - Then the Nomad would have no chance of getting you to see the Chairman and you might have known this - and the Nomad might not have known this ....

... if the Nomad is unhappy and "resigns" and a new Nomad can't be found, the shares in a company are suspended .... so the Chairman would know this and communicate with the Nomad.

Do you wish the Nomad to resign?

"Research" as you call it - is only useful if you follow it up with your brain.

The Mercantile Ports & Logistics Placing was worth considerably more than all the other three placings in November 2016 combined and apparently, has suddenly disappeared without trace from their website promotional material, in much the same way £44m of Mercantile's shareholders funds disappeared without trace into the Indian Subcontinent ether before a single aggregate vehicle set a tyre on the proposed reclamation site - Why?

Answers on a postcard to the AIM Regulator and the SFO, who after analysing the small amount of our file material provided to request an investigation of Mercantile Ports & Logistics and its associated parties, asked us to forward a full file submission to their major fraud unit, which we have done.

Ridiculous comment. Even his creditors cannot get to see him. Somehow I don't think you have researched far enough back here

Post 653... sums up the EU and the employee benefits perfectly.

I lived in Belgium for many years and worked both at the European Commission(on a freelance basis so reaped none of the benefits) and in the private sector.
I could tell you a story or two and believe me, with what goes on there, I can assure you the U.K. will be a far healthier place without membership of the gravy train.

'What's worse is that a majority of individuals working in the private sector in Belgium pay an income tax of 45-50%...'

Add to that 13% social security and an extra 3% 'crisis bijlage(crisis contribution)' that was introduced at least 25 years ago and still remains today.

Add to that the 3% that disappeared from private pension funds overnight... plundered by the State as they had run out of cash.

I could go on, and on, and on...all day in fact.

keith95 - Don't recall Mercantile shareholders agreeing to Fraud by False Representation with respect to RNS Statements, Results Statements or the Shareholders Circular issued by Mercantile and supposedly verified by the Nomad before signing off!

The major II's who i spoke to failed to carry out any due diligence worthy of the name and as a consequence foolishly accepted the contents of the Placing Documentation as accurate - despite being alerted to the strong possibility, highly material sections of it could prove to be a work of fiction - which they did.

That you believe Cenkos should have fought their hefty FCA fine for making incorrect representations on behalf of Quindell speaks volumes about your 'judgement' and investment 'nous' considering the withering comments of the FCA, because many in the City believe Cenkos were fortunate to get off so lightly.

"Cenkos did not carry out its sponsor role with the level of diligence and professional care that the Authority would expect. Cenkos failed to identify and manage properly the key risks relating to whether the client would be able to demonstrate its eligibility for a premium listing," said Mark Stewart of the FCA.

In addition, the FCA said that Cenkos – itself an Aim-quoted company – was unable to provide information to the regulator that was "accurate and complete".

There are many MPL shareholders who would suggest most of the same failings were repeated, and have been added to during their sponsor role to date with Mercantile.

As posters on the Cenkos thread rather helpfully suggest, it seems being a heavily underwater Cenkos shareholder may be clouding your vision and impairing your investment judgement.
