It is going to depend on how long the NHS is impactted by the virus. The share price has already dropped significantly from the mid 100s. Is it already factored in?

I dont currently own these but have them on my watch list. Interesting that the share price didnt flinch at all with the trading update on the 7th.

Does anyone who know the company far better than I do think that the Covid-19 saga will have any negative impact on the prospects for the business once Covid is over?

my friend works in the ambulance service & said A&E in London is completely dead. no drunk people, no sporting injuries & no time wasters.

why would people avoid A and E if they need it? If they don't need it, they shouldn't be going in the first place.

yes you was right, & now i am out. i think even when things go back to normal people will avoid a&e for a while.

Further profit warning on the way.

The market took a profit warning well.

nighthawk is their biggest earner and is 30% down.

Further progress with the results announced today (albeit unaudited because of some nonsense from the FCA).

"With a strong balance street and leadership in a growth market, we are very optimistic about the long-term prospects of the business, notwithstanding short-term uncertainty from COVID-19. We are highly focused on executing our strategy to double our revenues in the next five years."

Also an agreement with AI company for head scans

I always thought the problem wasn't the amount of work for Medica. It was that they can't attract enough contractors. Its usually the less senior ones who need the money more that that stage in their careers.

i heard the opposite from a radiologist friend. He says the NHS will need to outsource more to Medica not less due to pressure caused by CV.

Massive impact on MGP with cancelled NHS ops/cancelled surgeries and cancelled routine imaging appointments.

A chat with Radiologist contacts last week. Many consultant radiologists now willing to do more overtime for NHS because of budget pension backtrack. As of last week, no noticeable increase in CT or X-ray work from virus impact.

Medica will show a profit warning. Emergency out of hours scans will plummet as less people attend a and e and more stay at home.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Like you, I don't know if this will be net good or net bad for medica. But the NHS will not be spending how everyone thought it would be spending, so broker forecasts are fairly meaningless now

Corona infected cat scans show up ground glass particulates

Will be a lot of ct scans being carried out in wake of corona

MammyOno, 18BT,.Superficially, on the face of it, enabling the out-sourcing, remote working of medical analyses should IMO be a good place to be in the developing environment....However, one could also anticipate the wholesale redeployment of NHS resources towards CV issues; and also anticipate that consultations that entail demand for MGP services will dip significantly for the next few months..Or will CV treatment drive demand in itself? Genuine question - anyone have a feel for what procedures drive demand?.The share price chart currently doesn't look healthy.......or of a prospective beneficiary, tightfist

Now if they could read lung cat scans, MGP would be a real winner from COVID19 would it not?

Not sure many radiologists would be competent enough to look after sick patients. Better employed interpreting Xrays? The workload is certainly going to increase.

Perhaps investors are worried about how they will continue to run the business when all medical staff are redeployed to dealing with patients sick with the virus?

I'd have thought MGP could do ok. Radiography will be needed as much as ever, and perhaps more.
