05/5/2020 09:28 | Earlier :- . And . | skinny
05/5/2020 09:21 | Signs of life today with 10% rise so far. Perhaps these haven't been much affected by the lock-down as they provide staff for care homes and deal with property maintainence which is still necessary. | deadly
05/3/2020 16:39 | Cannot make out these b.,?ard MMs, the shares bounce up and down all day, just before the close they go lower, then after the close in the auction they rise again. If you want to sell some, you cannot sell at the auction price. | lucy123
19/2/2020 06:08 | All the latest infrastructure services/contractor valuation multiples and KPIs can be downloaded from here, including MER | brummy_git
28/1/2020 21:45 | Was taking a look at this share, last update was 'results in line with Board expectations' as opposed to market expectations....any one know what the Board expectations might be?! | texaspete2
03/1/2020 16:49 | All we've had recently is yet another statement saying FY results 'are in line with expectations', which is a well-worn euphemism for flat earnings. This will be the 3rd year in a row that this has been the case, and explains why the share price has continued to disappoint generally. What we're seeing now is just a relief rally, and of course they never last long. Back to 250 by early summer. | bend1pa
02/1/2020 15:27 | Not wanting to curse this but... it looks as if the market has woken up to MER. Good to see the share price picking up. Salty | saltaire111
13/12/2019 18:24 | no election bounce here, in fact was down most of the day. Good for a future bounce though? Recent results were decent. | deadly
27/11/2019 11:47 | Very quiet here. It’s an un-loved sector at present but it’s a solid business. Needs a change of direction at the top. This presentation from MER’s top shareholder is worth a look: Salty. | saltaire111
13/8/2019 09:01 | Interim Divi up 2.8%. Revenue up but profit down due to changes to accounting policy and exiting some developments but ok overall. Salty | saltaire111
10/8/2019 12:41 | so are we expecting good results or not from this one? | red5
30/5/2019 15:01 | At last, some signs that the market is coming round to Mears as an opportunity. It’s worth three quid a share all day long. Salty | saltaire111
24/5/2019 15:03 | Trading on a PE of 10. Divi covered almost 2x. Competitors falling by the wayside opening up yield opportunity. Debt levels at just 33% of book. Appreciate that sentiment is against the sector but sentiment is too emotional for me. I’m just looking at the numbers and thinking that the market is missing something here. I think this is a dull, boring, predictable company that delivers lots of cash. I’m buying more. Salty. | saltaire111
21/5/2019 13:25 | saltaire111, it could be that the market see's a company very dependent upon the public purse, a purse that is being pinched over and again by government policy. Add in the sudden demise of some big name service providers, and the business model doesn't look too safe. This company might well be the exception but it happens to be in a currently unpopular sector. In the past this type of operation was seen as an essential utility, with prospects of growth as public bodies contracted out their responsibilities, and thus perceived as safe. The landscape has changed. | lefrene
21/5/2019 13:13 | Still do not understand why this company is so unloved. Salty | saltaire111
12/4/2019 08:06 | Great article in Investors Chronicle as a contrarian buyI'm in | ch1ck
19/3/2019 13:01 | Sp was near a 7 year low this am. Seems like another one of those companies that has the market spooked. Their debt was a little above budget, which is a concern. Just hope they have managed to learn a lesson from the likes of CLLN, MTO and IRV. Anyway decided to buy some this am. Hope the fear is eventually unjustified. | bend1pa
19/3/2019 11:46 | I just don’t get it. Competitors getting into a pickle, robust results, great new contract wins and increased Divi. What’s not to like? Salty | saltaire111
15/1/2019 09:00 | Positive update. Don’t understand the market reaction. Slightly higher debt, but just £5m. Don’t think that should make such an impact. Salty | saltaire111
08/1/2019 17:19 | Onwards and upwards. Great news today. My average price here is 311p | useless23
08/1/2019 15:16 | It appears that the market is starting to realise that Mears is not interserve Mk2. It never was and never will be. Credit should go to the management team. Salty | saltaire111
11/12/2018 09:16 | What a bargain this is | useless23
10/12/2018 13:58 | Contagion with interserve is entirely unjustified. | saltaire111
24/11/2018 09:14 | I never understand why the market automatically dilutes a share when a placing is made. Ok, so there are more shares in circulation, but the company has aquired assets to the same value as the placing so why should the mar-cap get killed? I’m going to buy more MER as the compelling value case is just as clear today as it was last week before the placing was announced. This company just doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Salty | saltaire111 |
