18/9/2011 21:34 | The float of the Hut has been postponed... | davidosh
17/9/2011 05:26 | Woof Woof! Early start this am as off to a few record fairs "oop Noorth" to buy a few CD's. Big wedge in my back pocket so hopefully in for a good day. Callng in on my old mates A and J on the way home for a "coop of charr". Looking forward to that and seeing the photos of the refurbished home in Spain or was it Cyprus...never mind. I have a few interesting ones to show as well from my chums recent trip to Hong Kong (What goes on tour and all that...) and the ones from Down Under last year with his bird from the office. Birds of a...I hope you enjoy this one. Almost as good as the Moonalisa (another type of cheese for those interested). I know i said I wouldn't post anymore but just can't resist it.I will try to be a little more constructive next time I post rather than the riddles. Apologies to everyone else reading this but those in the know will understand. | trevorsdogkeith
16/9/2011 17:38 | TrevorsDogKeith - 16 Sep'11 - 04:17 - 4253 Maybe accountsgirl can answer your question about the tickets? Alas, no. davidosh - 15 Sep'11 - 21:23 - 4250 Additionally if so many of these senior managers or acquired business heads have fallen out with TA would any of them actually be capable of running the ship ? Capable? yes. Willing? That's another matter entirely. I do not imagine for one second that any 'package' no matter how generous would entice so much as one of the growing band of ejected management to return to Leyland, and certainly not if the fruits of their labours would put even 1p in the pocket of Lord Voldemort and his deatheaters. | accountsgirl
16/9/2011 10:13 | yump.....good thinking. Surely Windsong is worth a couple of million too. Turnover was up considerably and it made nearly 600k profit. From the information coming through on these boards I think quite a few previously very close to the hub are almost as good as having a phone tapper and much more legal as they are valid witness accounts. | davidosh
16/9/2011 09:03 | o/t but the domain bee.com is brandable in a lot of ways and very memorable and that sort of domain is worth a lot of money, visitors or no visitors. My guess is TA is going to start his own bank with his wad from the honey pot. Not a bad name for a savings business ;-) | yump
16/9/2011 08:51 | I hope you guys get some answers, although I'm not invested any more. Unfortunately some people running businesses know exactly how to stay just behind the line of illegality, so there is often always an "explanation" of sorts for everything. Shame that the phone-tapping hacks never seem to hack anyone that really deserves hacking isn't it ? That would open a few eyes on "arrangements" made between chums over the years. | yump
16/9/2011 04:36 | Typo 56. On your tour of the north did you discover that Mr Liversey (Uexplore)used to live next door to TA? | trevorsdogkeith
16/9/2011 04:17 | Davidosh. Maybe accountsgirl can answer your question about the tickets? However I do trust the source of this information as they had no reason to make it up particularly when he/she still works at MBL and risks being suspended themselves for passing it on. I guess they are seeing their colleagues around them being made redundant and are incensed by such behaviour. Unfortunately I have no documented proof. If i did I would happily pass it your way. Ask TA and the FD (do they have one at the moment or is Lisa C back in the helm)as she surely would have to sign off such an amount. To get such a large allocation they must have acquired them through an events company on invoice. Can you not ask to see this? {Morning TA/PG.... No doubt you will try and get this comment removed and there will be a witch hunt in the morning to try and find out who has spilt the beans on this one}. Why would they need the tickets? That's the point they don't so if true it has to be for internal consumption. I don't think these senior managers/business heads have ever considered trying to push TA out. What would they gain from this other than reassuring themselves that the fault for falling out with TA was not there's. Yes certainly there are a number of ex employees that are more than capable to run the show but I doubt anyone is interested as such a sour taste has been left in their mouths. Who would want to come back and turn this co around knowing that ultimately TA will be the beneficiary as the main shareholder. It would have to be a hell of a good package! Actually come to think about it there may be one person that could be interested but as you say there isn't much left but the foundations and infrastructure is there but given the current climate it would need someone extra special.... but who wants to work/live near Preston it rains all day. I will have word with the wife and let you know. Kimboy2. Did Birdsofafeather enlighten you on the source of some of this stock? | trevorsdogkeith
16/9/2011 00:59 | This is what Birdsofafeather said about the James Allan arrangement. - James buys stock from the same sources as MBL Trevor uses him to buy stock from companies that don't want to supply MBL. - Could you elaborate why some companies might not want to supply MUBL direct? Is it fear that MUBL's scale would undercut their other distribution channels? - It's all about letting JA make some monies outside of MBL There are certain DVD publishers that discreetly get rid of overstocked products, and if they supplied MBL directly then they would also have to issue MBL a write down credit on any existing stock, so they sell to JA normally for payment upfront and he sells onto MBL, and JA sits with a pot of profit and MBL sit with stock that in essence has been bought at a top heaver price than necessary. | kimboy2
15/9/2011 22:09 | Like the cut of your jib TrevorsDogKeith. In light of recent (now deleted) posts one can only speculate as to whether those frogmarched from the building on grounds of incompetence were actually more likely to have been responsible for the demise of TA had they remained in office much longer. | accountsgirl
15/9/2011 21:23 | TDK....just out of interest. Do you know if there is any truth in the olympic tickets story ? Why would MBL need tickets for an event in mid 2012 when they are currently fighting for survival in mid 2011 ? Additionally if so many of these senior managers or acquired business heads have fallen out with TA would any of them actually be capable of running the ship ? There is not much of a business left without Morrisons but do you think they are looking to push TA out ? | davidosh
15/9/2011 20:11 | Thanks for that tip someuwin. I'll have some fun over the weekend in readiness for that meeting with the lancashire Heeler on Tuesday. | trevorsdogkeith
15/9/2011 19:27 | The best time to post is early evening (especially Fridays) - the board can fume as much as they like but there's no-one at ADVFN to censor the posts until next day/Monday. keep up the expose TDK! | someuwin
15/9/2011 19:12 | Can I correct myself in my last post. The word incompetence wasn't referring to the 8 people that left but he who they were reporting to. I for one have checked the cheese place to find that it is owned by TA....all in the public domain. | trevorsdogkeith

15/9/2011 17:56 | Typo56...lol I understand you have been doing a grand tour of the North. You could have popped in and sampled the cheeseboard. Check out the new warehouse maybe whilst you are up there. | davidosh
15/9/2011 17:46 | Hmm, I wonder if I can book a table for two at The Hastings tomorrow night through this board! | typo56
15/9/2011 17:30 | Given the rapid removal of recent posts. If anyone wants to get a message to the board this is clearly the place to do it. The board are monitoring this site by the minute. | timesmoney
14/9/2011 21:53 | Timesmoney...I think the difference will probably be that this 'ex employee' is known to them and it seems to me that he or she also has key information on events within MBL. The Board will not want their washing aired in public and so are doing what they can to prevent that. We are all investors and joint owners of the company. We are allowed to question events and discuss them as we see reasonable to do so. We cannot defame individuals but there is the ability to make fair comment. I very rarely have any posts pulled so clearly the parties who might wish to have them removed either know I am speaking the truth or know I have made reasonable assumptions. There may of course be legal reasons and confidentiality clauses in employee contracts that are breached so we do not know the exact reason for removal. They are not going away though as I think they come back with a different name each time or maybe TA has made even more enemies than we imagined ! | davidosh
14/9/2011 21:29 | I kept the recent now deleted posts and the previously deleted posts which were from 'birdsofafeather' there is common thread in these posts which someone is very sensitive about. It is clear this poster who is probably the same person has inside knowledge and was obviously a former employee probably of one of the acquired companies. Each post suggests the PC is aware of certain issues and should be closely questioned on them. There have been many many posts on this site suggesting all sorts of questionable goings on but none have been deleted except these. Why? | timesmoney
14/9/2011 14:01 | David I hope to do both but personal circumstances currently mean i will not be able to guarantee until the day which, if either, I can attend. Tony | goonertone
14/9/2011 13:56 | Peter Cowgill will be meeting with shareholders in London at noon on Tuesday 20th September. It is not likely that any other Board members will be present nor that this should be seen as a reason to divert attention from the main business and questions that ALL shareholders should have for the AGM on Monday 26th September at 11.30 am. Can those who visit this board say which or hopefully both meetings that they intend to attend ? Meeting with PC on 20th marben100 davidosh elwyn (TMF) myrtle1000 (TMF) TrafficCop (TMF) OliG (TMF) rthak RBCRBC (possibly) kramch MaxCashFlow goonertone (possibly) devymaster(TMF) Agm in Leyland on 26th marben100 davidosh myrtle1000 (TMF) OliG (TMF) DesWalker Manxman jeffian Mr Contrarian (TMF) Hillsy goonertone (possibly) Any more ? | davidosh |
