Specialist Fund Market. Aimed at sophisticated investors.

Its a specialist investment, or whatever the technical term is, so you need to have answered the "do you really know what you are doing" questions with your account provider. I had to do this with HL to buy more convertible stock I already owned so I think the rules tightened up in 2014.

Looked at the Triangle chart patterns here and thought the targets looked worthwhile and achievable, however Halifax share dealing say they no longer deal in the is share. Has anyone else bought these through Halifax?

I could try ordering on the phone, but expect there then might be similar difficulties selling. I guess others buying here are using different brokers. I mention this for info's sake, because it might have some effect on potential volume and liquidity. gla

So...to put matters into context, the HAV contribution to our NAV (inc. the new shares) was 26p as at 6th March - presumably all valued at 150p. Another good earner; though of course it is the future of ETO which continues to control the MVI share price

I wonder if MVI will be increasing its stake in the placing Haversham will be doing, clearly a £1.50 placing is a distinct premium to its suspended share price.

Even if MVI don't get involved in the placing when it reopened there should be a nice uplift in the share price and MVI's nav will benefit.

Went into BBOX. I have adjusted my rules recently and I am getting much sharper at dropping shares which are drifting. This does mean I might miss out on value opportunities but firstly I need to cut out the loss makers.

hpcg - sorry to read that - happens to us all, or certainly does to me more often than I would care to mention/remember! Perversely the ETO chart was beginning to look rather positive, as indeed I posted on the ETO thread...

Hopefully you reinvested in something also doing well.

Another interesting fact is that MVI recently bought a 4.8% stake in shell company Haversham Holdings - HAV. HAV is now reported to be in a £1bn reverse takeover deal for British Car Auctions.

The HAV/BCA terms are yet to be revealed; but it is highly likely that the HAV price of 125p will be left well behind when light is cast on the deal.

Buying MVI buys exposure to the deal; and does so at a 30.3£ discount. Looks good to me!

Haversham Holdings plc

Response to press speculation

The Board of Haversham notes recent press speculation concerning the possibility of Haversham making a substantial acquisition.

The Board confirms that Haversham is in very advanced discussions which might lead to a transaction which would constitute a reverse takeover pursuant to AIM Rule 14. In accordance with the AIM Rules, trading in Haversham's ordinary shares has been suspended pending conclusion of these discussions. There can be no certainty at this time that a transaction will proceed and we will update shareholders in due course

davidosh - I would have been truly honoured to have done so; however living down here in SW France does rather preclude attending such events.

Many thanks for the invitation.

(In any event the dates coincide with my 3-month all-day Boot Camp Physio check-up - great French Health System - though how long the State can continue with such largesse is a matter of concern!)

MVI should go down well at the two day investor workshops as we are focussing many of the workshops on understanding investment strategies with one entitled ' What are special situation investments ?' and we will be looking at individual companies as well. Skyship....You would be very welcome to host a workshop as you seem to follow many of these special sits ?

This is the direct link to the two day programme...

There must be at least half the workshops there to interest any investor and we have some very well known hosts and speakers plus 24 company presentations as a bonus. They will be released in about ten days time.

Why not come and join us ?
