Sales absolutely screaming away in all sectors still and international sales increasing strongly. I don't know many businesses with sales this strong.

Got to be serious upgrades to the forecasts for the coming year imo - current forecasts don't factor in this sort of growth and operational gearing imo.

you are right CR - media just likes to frighten and confuse..... falling prices of everything (except perhaps labour) must be good for economy..... get more for your money.....if we took inflation out of the equation then prices of most things eg holidays, clothes etc has gone down which is called a standard of living increase - rising energy prices can only be a bad thing but the media presents it as a problem

Interesting article regarding brick shortage Nov 2014:
apologies if this has already been mentioned.

I agree, I live in London and they are building luxury flats and houses on plots the size of postage stamps, also converting office blocks to flats because of the housing shortage. There are also proposals to force us to build on the Green Belt. Lots of money here for the high end of the market.

What about lower energy costs tho?

With oil falling has it has the fleet of lorries that Marshalls run must save a huge amount - I bet one of these loaded with bricks or slabs doesn't do much to the gallon:

And then there's Natural Gas prices - down over 30% in the past year. The energy that goes into cooking bricks must be pretty high imo.

All bodes well for the co going forward imo.

The weather has been exceptionally good so it goes without saying the results will be better than expected. How much is built into the price already is the question?

Added to my holding here today, surprised it dipped a bit but if earlier trading updates are believed it should be good news tomorrow. Here's hoping :)

Wednesday is the date I have.

A good day for MSLH today - a load of small bot AT buying too which usually means a larger buying getting filled rather than lots of small bb traders.

Sector in play too:

All imo/dyor etc

Going well today - and the chart's looking lovely imo.

From the interims

Marshalls remains focused on product innovation and service delivery initiatives to deliver continued sales growth and further improve trading margins. The medium term objective is for the Group to return to the much higher revenue and profit levels that were achieved by Marshalls before the recession."

be nice to see this continue next week, with better volumes too - currently on a breakout but only at 25% of the previous month daily average.
