Surprised the share price drop is so high, didn't look that bad, but expectations must be higher....

Debt here seems needs to be addressed. They need to spin off some parts to address that (as they mention)

Well I guess that noise in the financial media has been rumbling still. I've not seen any but then I haven't looked. I draw the same conclusion as you. Possibly a higher low in depending on if one chooses to make that April May period a consolidation rather than a retracement.

Seems a bit late to issue a half assed denial about the TIC division. I suppose it shows it was on the table at some point

"This acquisition is a key step in Marlowe's strategy to broaden its GRC capabilities into the highly complementary ISO certification market and presents an attractive opportunity to cross-sell into the Group's existing customer base...

This is a large and fragmented market..."

If it finds support here then it is a pretty clear up trend. It will take a while to get to the recent high though, most likely do that over a few months rather than a couple of days from a Sky News article.

Wish I sold the lot recently. This does seem to be relentless selling/shorting. I guess its all about the debt (still). Perhaps in a year they will be able to reduce it a bit. I still have about 2500 of these - still one of my bigger holdings.

Guess selling the TIC division isn't going to happen anytime soon.

IC article today says BUY FWIW, they think the one-off costs this yr have given too negative a view. However they also said BUY a yr ago at 830p...

Yep. At the time I didn't think it would be a good buy. I see some of their directors have stood down. All very well saying that they will achieve better growth as an independent but they didn't do it.

Seems to be another downward slide here. My sell looks well timed, but obv should have sold more..

Just had the latest note from Cenkos, forecasts revised up by a fairly nominal amount says its undervalued vs its peers. Nothing particularly new.

Figures seem decent enough, match the forecasts from cenkos. No mention of spinning out the TIC division though.

>>Surely they need to issue an RNS even if only to deny the rumour?

I vaguely thought so, earlier today. But on second thoughts: it's a sale-of-subsidiary rumour, not a bid rumour. So the Takeover Code isn't invoked - no obligation there. (They might lob out an announcement anyway.)

I've sold c£6000, its about 25% of my holding that I bought fairly recently just below £5. Better to travel than arrive etc. Will hold the rest longer term. May be that the higher margin businesses would get a better rating, so a deal would make sense from a valuation point.

1nf3rn0 - A PE consolidator is what is suggested in the article. Just their presence and activity in Europe will force a trade buyer's hand if they had been considering action.

Well observed, hpcg.

Today's move above the recent high reconfirms the new uptrend and it is good to see big round number 600p punched through.

800p the next big test?

There is a reasonable short interest here as well, for a London company with a limited daily turnover that is, nothing squeezy in the US sense. I've added some spreadbets to my holding, the buying is relentless and in a decent size.

wad - agree with you, though I think they will have to confirm the rumour, but it will be early days, no guarantee anything will happen etc.

Who are the likely bidders? Johnson Controls (who own ADT and Tyco), and Chubb are the 2 biggest players in the UK. So I guess those 2, plus potentially some private equity interest, but less likely.
