Footfall plummets 57.7% on last year due to second lockdown says SPRINGBOARD footfall monitor

Terrible news for retailers as this is the key selling time for Christmas and shoppers are doing their shopping early.

There is bound to be a lot of surplus stock left over which will have to be sold, much at less than cost after Christmas.

robot,

Four other's having to self isolate as well as Borris. This changes things if someone can get the virus a second time and why aren't his immune system kicking in a second time?

If the has got the virus a second time the antidotes almost useless.

People voted Tory last December but again we have ended up with a left leaning, tax raising liberal government.

Another globalist agenda ticked from the "Nasty Party"

Rishi Sunak considers plan to charge motorists for every mile they drive on Britain's roads to fill £40billion tax hole left by the switch to electric cars

The shop I've used more than any other during the entire covid period has been the local M&S at the petrol station.
I dont know if M&S make money from these petrol station stores but they are where people go during lockdowns etc etc.

MARKS said to have been involved in talks with Jaeger over selling their dresses. It would be a good deal if they did manage to buy the company which is held by Edinburgh Wool Mill owner Philip Day.

I would say this is an interesting bit of information and me and QANTAS have said MARKS needs to be looking at selling other brands but Jaeger is a very good brand indeed.

Dan,

You have hit the nail on the head, less parties this year and MARKS in particular are renowned for party food and its all high margin stuff.

The price got ahead of itself imo and due a pullback.

All IMHOThinking about lack of Christmas parties etc this year made me think that may be buying considerably less 'nice M&S party food' this year. One would guess that they have good margins on this nice party food that a lot of people buy as part of making parties easy?Dan
