26/10/2020 11:54 | EH26 Oct 2020 10:02AMYes. Quite right and well said. You see this is the problem with many of our shops as well as bars and restaurants. So many of them have become obsessed with their covid enforcement policies that they actually forget that the customer is king and key to their business surviving. Instead of treating them like walking germs, they would do well to remember that it is the customer keeping many of them in the jobs they occupy.Tone from the top as always makes a huge difference. Some shops and bars seem hell bent on being the most woke and covid complaint versus just operating sensible policies and letting people go about their day as normally as possible. Waitrose was a grand example early on where it refused to let more than 1 person in its shops from the same household, even though there was no such policy or rule issued by national or local government. More virtue signalling by the idiots in charge which turns into arrogance and poor customer service at the store front.Michael Welby26 Oct 2020 9:40AMRetailers in my home town appear hostile to customers and more interested in regulating and controlling them than serving them and making the shopping "experience" enjoyable. I am minimising my high-street shopping anyway but boycotting those who have adopted unnecessarily strict practices and messages (e.g red/green "traffic" lights, one-in-one out rules etc.) Honourable mentions however go to Timpsons (still a real pleasure) and Tesco (common sense rules only)When will these retailers learn that customers do not shop where they feel irritated / unwelcome / uncomfortable or (in my case) ordered around?... 26/10/2020 10:58 | Hi QANTAS, Interesting news, I don't think you can compare Marks meals with Greggs, maybe with Waitrose and if Greggs get the deal customers will notice the difference and be disaapointed. | debsdowner | |
