TBH I was more annoyed by the flagrant misrepresenation of the results, than the slight drop in earnings. It just made me add MFX to the list of companies where its impossible to trust management. Any yes I do still think its very cheap

...the seller
... perhaps they are miffed because MFX has had a massive increase in its loan book & has added ~£1.2 million PAT due to PA ltd & interest income on cash parked in Govt treasuries
& yet the co. has managed to report a fall in profits !!
Seems almost impossible.
I'm not happy about it either. But hopefully it is just a dip in the trend of growth, which is there to see.

((btw
I noticed this text in a previous RNS

"As a result, the Group will be able to consolidate 50.1% of Payment Assist's trading results..."

...so, consolidating 100% of PA results in the presentation by exec dirs & in the text from the chairman, was, well, incorrect. ;-). ))

======
So, the text written by Jim Mellon
"With this backdrop it is pleasing to announce another record half year with a 30% increase in our Profit Before Tax Payable to GBP3.0 million"
.....was/is not true, as we already know.

Possibly but why would you sell at 4 x earnings ?
Certainly was easy to buy today as I left London.

What's been rattling this cage for a few weeks. After all the support that C Tiger and S6 has stumped up, it is surprising.

Any views why this is falling again?

...if it took £400k off the PAT in H1 then the PAT would have been £1.9m+ £0.4m without it, = £2.3m

X 2 (for 12 months) = £4.6m.
Versus a cap. value of ~£20 million.
...looks too cheap imo

Anyone have any info or a guess for how much of one off reduction in profit has happened due to applying for the UK banking licence ?

And do we know if there is a fee to pay for the process ?
One assumes that the regulators have to do due diligence on MFX, using experienced expensive staff & that the applicant is surely the one that has to pay for that.

----

A one off cost for the application process that won't repeat.

(& note that the co. has said it hopes to get the UK banking licence this month in October '23....so surely 99.9% of the cost for the application process is all water under the bridge now)

Looks like the trade at 2pm for 50k shares was imo a buy (£9.1k....a fair chunk for MFX trades)

& it was that that caused the 2nd step up in the price today.
