20/9/2007 12:10 | Another case in point is Northern Rock. We are very good at destroying value. Nrk is going to be destroyed for its mistakes and sold off for peanuts. Another great British icon would be gone forever. Watch out! In fives year time, it would be the gem in the crown of its acquirer. | ![]() daniel

06/9/2007 09:57 | Micro Mentality I believe British Assets are being sold for peanuts. The best of our companies are grossly undervalued and are being overrun by shrewd foreign executives. British investors, inventors and entrepreneurs are being turned to slaves that work like elephants and reap rewards like ants. A fundamental reason for this is micro mentality of our capital market operators, (from Market Makers to FSA). Their understanding is inflexible and their thinking is totally rigid. For example, the United States' Capital markets, while directly affected by 9/11, has fully recovered, while the LSE is still lagging far behind. We pride ourselves in being at the forefront of developments in biotech / biomedical sciences, but the entire total market value of all UK-listed biotech companies is about €14bn (£9.4bn), while in the US, the figure is $392bn (£194bn). Yet the US biotech sector began in the 1970s. Wake up Britain! Wake up! We don't have to keep finding new ways of reinventing the wheels. Making money by under pricing your assets will lead to misfortune. Wake up! At current rate China and India would over take Britain in Biomedical and Information Technology within 5 years. | ![]() daniel
02/8/2007 08:38 | TDW ballsed up with ICS which delisted in 2000. they said a compulsary purchase order was made, when it was only unconditional. £1000 investment returned £750, but if they had not BALLSED up a £50,000 return would have been mine this year! cant remember how many RTM i hold. | ![]() valter
02/8/2007 07:48 | clivee - Your shares still have a value! As mentioned by others, TD Waterhouse will trade these shares for you if you set up a trading account with them that incudes international dealing. You ought to be able to transfer in your shares from your present back to TDW. The shares are still listed on the Australian stock exchange (they only delisted on AIM). Also remember that the company changed its name from Reefton to Magna Mining (symbol: MAN). | megsta

01/8/2007 12:03 | How can banks say they have no value. What should happen when a company delist. as i said before Ronson, CYC Holdings, Northern Lynk. I can understand if they go bust and you can right off against Tax loss but if just delisting. example SHAWS (SAW) de-listed but still active at company house so they say. Anyway thank you all for your help and advice with this. | clivee

01/8/2007 11:46 | Clive- you will need to set up an account with an Australian broker. The bank should then transfer your shares to the broker you nominate. The one Halifax suggested was Patersons Securities Contact was Tony Melville www.patersonssecurit | ![]() fludde

01/8/2007 11:11 | clivee- no they do have a value! They have been delisted from the UK AIM and relisted on the ASX. Same number but at the prevailing price. There was someone in Perth WA who was sorting this stuff out but I can't recall his name, I will try and find out though. Alternatively transfer them to TDW or similar. Dont listen to the FW in the bank they do have a value and worth approx £1000 at todays value. Hope that helps? | sawbones
