26/1/2011 11:53 | suppliers paid 40/50% of what they are outstanding and informed that there is no more this month! contracts dropping off the back and replaced by new ones with lower margins Dosnt sound like the ship has turned round to me, more like its engines are off and its throwing the cargo overboard to the captains lifeboat | richmond9
08/12/2010 20:13 | The biggest shareholder selling 10% of their holding at a loss Is that a good sign? | richmond9
07/12/2010 20:10 | Mj100 Your correct about the link posted by coolmd The contract announced today was split between GSH in the north and another well known FM provider in the south. Neither wanted the consolidated national contract because of the target open book margin. Anyone who has worked with TC knows the level of disclosure required in their bidding process There are no hidden profit margins for the successful bidder | richmond9
07/12/2010 19:42 | Rich, Coolmd, was that not retail? | mj100
07/12/2010 17:58 | Well done mj100 I talked to a contact at GSH today who said they served notice on TC at the end of the 2nd year (sept 2010) as the contract was not financially viable. TC went for MSS as they were willing to take it for the T/O and cashflow Good work SB Also is it just me or do the interim results look alot worse than expected when you look into it abit more closely. Considering the appointment of a senior team (all ex GSH) and the acquisitions the business has underperformed by about 1.5m top line and 500k bottom line. It has also used up all of it's cash and has started to use debt to fund itself. I'm not sure about quite a few things on the balance sheet. Just dosnt smell right. | richmond9
07/12/2010 17:04 | mj100 - 7 Dec'10 - 15:11 - 1934 of 1935 This was not a GSH contract but an in house delivery which MSS have won at a good margin. Believe it or not MSS have two very strong contracts added to their portfolio and I'm sure others will follow. ......FAIL | toad6
07/12/2010 16:45 | mj100 Just lost all faith in you!!!....Thomas Cook was a GSH Contract. DYOR before posting.... | coolmd
07/12/2010 15:11 | This was not a GSH contract but an in house delivery which MSS have won at a good margin. Believe it or not MSS have two very strong contracts added to their portfolio and I'm sure others will follow. | mj100
07/12/2010 15:09 | The thing is we are 3 years down the track! Operationally geared businesses tend not to be people-businesses. MSS is not a particularly operationally geared business. It's overheads are staff salaries and they need those staff to generate income so sales rise when staff costs rise so no real operational gearing. Install a software system that tells the company when things are going wrong meaning they only incur cost when they need to is operational gearing. | toad6
07/12/2010 14:50 | Richmond You seem to be well informed are you as they say "close to the business" Not worried in this case on the margin - a bit of bread and butter business with a few big names to pay the overheads is good for MSS with "the Group operationally geared". This is a whole new business SB has put together and you have to look 2 - 3 years down the track. AO | a0148009
07/12/2010 14:50 | asparks - what is the detail then, as you seem so informed?? | iiinvester
07/12/2010 13:14 | ...only he has given you the detail or how would he know it was GSH? | toad6
07/12/2010 12:36 | The contract has been won from GSH on a competitive tender basis where MSS have undercut on a contract which was already cut to the bone. Value is about 900k per annum but MSS will be lucky if they make 2% which is why the announcement is so vague. | richmond9
