Need to keep the sales coming to chip away at the debt or the NAV just resets every year to account for the interest payments and management fees and running costs. A 20% debt reduction is certainly welcome. The question is when will all of the units finally be sold...
Been watching this for years and finally bought 50,000 today. Even if the sales take 3 years and even allowing for a 15% discount to market value to sell the remaining units then there should be at least 50% upside here and possibly more. Worth a punt.

It's finally turned.

Macau's Residential Property Price Index has risen by just short of 1% from February to April 2023 (O.9%).

Looks like the market has bottomed and has finally turned positive according to Official statistics.

Excellent news for the Macau residential market which hopefully will now be reflected in future upwards portfolio revaluations for MPO.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

you clearly want to have a fight.

suggest you have a fight with the angry little man in the mirror.

......Otherwise.......

just try and say something constructive about MPO without constantly criticising everyone else.

go on try it. maybe a new experience for you. It's really not difficult.

Come on - say something interesting about MPO.

Let's hear it

.... but it does include the words 'hopeful' & 'possibility' .... .... personally I am hopeful about the possibility of getting all 6 numbers on the National Lottery .... (I'd then happily get a divorce and give up 50% of the winnings :-).... and for MPO I'd be hopeful about the possibility of the share price getting to two-thirds of NAV .... ( I'd then happily sell my holdings :-)

Well that's certainly the most bullish thing I've read from MPO in a while:-

"The Board welcomes the recent abandonment of the Chinese government's zero-COVID strategy and is hopeful that as the market continues to open that the possibility for significant further disposals will increase."

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Yeah, have heard about Mrs. Tina - not much of her trading has gone right recently and she has taken to hanging around across the bridge in Wan Chai wearing a mini-skirt and lots of make-up. For her day job she guts fish in Coloane. However she does use her income to accumulate MPO :-)

I'm pleased to see Hargreaves Lansdown have restarted allowing their clients to buy MPO. I noted they had stopped a couple of months ago (post 819). Not that I'm planning to buy any, but it's really annoying when you do decide to, and log in, and the broker just shows you the finger. Especially when it's in an ISA or SIPP and you can't easily move the money to a competent broker.

The KID was always on the MPO website.

All depends on China developments surely - and not sure I'd trust Xi any more than Putin.

MPO had both hands tied behind their backs for a while (but fortunately not in a detention centre).

"Macau Property Opportunities (MPO) dropped 6% as casino operators such as Wynn Macau plunged up to 30% after the government kicked off a regulatory overhaul in the territory. Shares in the small Guernsey fund that is attempting to wind up have halved over five years and trail on a 60% discount to NAV."

China, or anything connected to China, feels uninvestable atm.

Looks like we still have quite a long wait here.

The Hong Kong - Macao travel corridor hasn't re-opened. Tourism from mainland China to Macao is still much reduced.

MPO don't seem to be able to let or sell much.

So more patience needed. Things will get back to normal, it's just going to take a bit more time that we expected.
