80p is proving tricky. All LUCE does is show abit of leg there, get us excited and then disappears off into the sunset....until the next time.

Anywho, some broker commentary below:

Peel Hunt has upgraded LED manufacturer Luceco (LUCEL) as it continues to rebuild its earnings despite the tougher backdrop.

Analyst Andrew Shepherd-Barron upgraded his recommendation from ‘add’ to ‘buy’ but lowered the target price from 120p to 96p on the stock, which was trading up 6.3%, or 4.6p, at 77p.

He said the ‘earnings track record continues to rebuild, with an inline statement and confidence reiterated for the full year’. Margins are recovering to ‘good levels’ and organic revenue is ‘encouraging’, leading Shepherd-Barron to conclude the shares are ‘too lowly rated’.

‘Even with an unfavourable UK focus and cyclicality, we see it as being much closer to full investor rehabilitation and deserving of a 12 times rating to reflect its client loyalty and earnings growth,’ he said.

UPDATE 11/09

Longed more on seeing those decent chunks go through this morning. Could that be the pesky 80p sellers cleared?

Stock currently trading at 84p, with little stock on offer and threatening a breakout over that cursed 80p mark. 2m volume and counting.

Dare we be optimistic? :-D

Starting to get a little interesting with this lovely intraday trend higher now. Some decent chunks bought at 80 (3x 150k and a 200k) with buyers now on the bid trying to seize control of that key 80p square on the board.

Pivotal afternoon to follow. A breakout above 80 would be very significant - every man and his dog can see that.

Come on, be nice.

EDIT:
Closing auction update: 80p close.

I'm sure we all guessed that close too - LUCE is such a tease!

It’s a definite hold for me especially as the divi has been increased.

They’ve intimated they’re above expectations for the start of the second half and we have a 40p gap to fill back to recent highs.

There should be a decent rise between now and ex-divi on 19th Sept.

I’m looking for 10-15p to be added to the share price by then.

GL All.

I've decided to hold. It's a hold at worst. They have been cautious before and still upgraded forecasts, but yes, far too much political meddling out there to be getting too excited.

The stock has already had a good kicking from its high too, so a director buy or two could still result in more confidence and recovering some of that move lower. Have to wait and see if any of the real market movers have the confidence to snap up enough stock today (and this week) to drive it higher.

We are all gambling with the nutter Boris and the so called Conservative Party, OKA UKIP.

Live day by day. I have to admit this is my only UK centric holding, the rest are far away from the UK.

Ahead but only confident enough to keep guidance the same, so does that mean a marked deterioration is to come in H2.

There is alot of caution further down that report too. Volume is light this morning so far so nothing definitive in terms of a real move just yet. Real test is where the sellers in size have come in prior at that key 80p level.
