Those number have come directly from Peter Pollock. The only way they will get upgraded is if there are new contract wins. Entirely possible but I'm not holding my breath. Anyone know why the LED part of the business stopped growing?

Good summary stewy-it rather begs the Q of why the company and/or broker chose to puff up the prospects here a year or so ago which saw the share price surge. The idea was that the earnings would grow into the share price and all would be well. PP needs to be looking hard in the mirror........

The note rates LPA as a speculative buy and I think that is about right. I didn't see anything in the forecast figures that would get me excited. If they are on target for 2015 revenues that is the fourth year revenues will decline. I think long term patience could be rewarded here, but it is very difficult to forecast when. You are not paying too much for that privilege however. Interestingly, I don't think the company can do much more than they are doing. There has been a change in their tone and it looks like they are trying to manage expectations so that is a bonus. Could they be doing more overseas? Why has LED part of the business not taken off? Not really sure, but the investment case is not as compelling as it was when I first invested. I will be keeping a watchful eye on this, but as someuwin mentioned this doesn't help :-

Good luck.

I guess this weeks announcement of the shelving of a £38.5bn five-year plan to modernise Britain's railways doesn't help LPA's cause.

Stewy, jam tomorrow does sum up the current situation. There was a poster, Henry999 or something similar who made the point regularly a few years ago on one of these threads. As I said a few months ago the only folks who make any real money in this company are the board. Have not checked the accounts but total remuneration of the board is multiple times the profit just declared and has been the same most times in recent years. Sad really but the board have been getting away with it for years and no one seems to care.

This is also my problem. It does get a bit jam tomorrow. Revenues have decreased the last 3 years. There is a real chance they will decrease for a 4th year in a row. When does patience wear thin? This play relies on operational gearing, so if they can get up to £20 million revenues, things will look very different. Still on the fence here.

Nothing changes around here. Even the posts seem to repeat themselves.

I agree, it was in last results that this year was a going to be a quieter year and the next couple of years would have accelerated growth. This is not new news so will pay off for the patient investor. Still holding and have topped up this morning as I think the shares are fair-good value for prospects. Dividend is maintained so they still expect growth.

Interim's aren't great, but we knew that. Long term outlook is positive. It is whether you believe them:-

The strength of our order book and the outlook for both UK and export markets mean that the Group's medium and long term prospects are very positive. Our factory load is improving and we expect to make modest progress during the remainder of this year, and this progress is expected to accelerate as the major projects mature through 2016-19.

So it looks like it will be another quiet year. At least they are managing expectations. I was thinking 2015 would be the breakthrough year. I might have stuck with them if my expectations hadn't been so badly managed. Will be interesting to see the brokers note. Certainly one for the patience but it might still be rewarded. I was expecting a lot lower TBH so they have something to work off. Depends how you interpret modest progress.

All the best

A 5% rise this morning on no news and just half a dozen trades with a total volume of less than 15,000 shares.
Just illustrates how very illiquid this share is and how miniscule volumes can easily move the price up or down.

I have some contacts at WHI so may enquire. Company calls the shots and LPA may prefer something later in the year when there is a bit more news-hopefully.
