KVRR

In your previous posts you repeatedly dissed this company.

KVRR - 22 Jan'10 - 11:01 - 596 of 626

A pity Lonzim have to hand over 51% shareholdings in their assets (including the hotel, Celsys, etc) to local Zimbabwe people under the requirements of the new Zimbabwean indigenisation legislation meaning they effectively lose control with no guarantees.

Readers might want to believe as I do, that your posts are a pathetic attempt at influencing others dealing decisions.

davidwilkin - on that basis [see below] I would have to up the price target for LZM I mentioned earlier to around 260p.

Renaissance Capital has initiated coverage of Sub-Saharan Africa focused investment company Lonrho (AIM: LONR), giving it a 'buy' rating and placing a 21 pence target price on the stock, calling its 2009 performance encouraging and noting the International Monetary Fund's projections of a 3.9% and 5.4% GDP (gross domestic product) growth forecast for the region for 2010 and 2011 respectively.

KVRR - it may just be possible that LONR's assets are more exciting and potentially worth a lot more going forward - but i love your analogy and yes £1.60 will do for me. Have you seen the new broker target price of 21p for LONR over on that board.

ecohouse: compare two Africa related companys Lonzim LZM with Lonrho LONR.

LONR's Trading Update 30-12-2009 said LONR has Net Assets of £84m. LONR was trading today at 13p (mcap £136.5m) which is 1.62 x said Net Assets.

If LZM was to do the same LZM could be trading at 1.62 x the Net Asset Value £32.6m (i.e. 101.6p per share) you referred to from this weeks Final Results, which = a share price of 164p for LZM.

What is even more interesting is that LONR was making a loss, whilst LZM is in profit and without debt.

Key points from LZM's Final Results for the Year Ended 31/8/2009, released this week:

Turnover £2.6m
Profit £0.913m
Net Asset Value £32.6m (101.6p per share)
Cash £2.4m

My observations:

With the continued improvements to the economic climate in Zimbabwe, LZM's NAV has probably increased even more since August 2009 and should, along with revenues, receive a further boost when the refurbished part of the Leopard Rock Hotel opens again shortly, and continue to do so for the forseeable future.

Current share price only 38p (MCap £13.8m) looks due for a re-rating.

My experience of cos like this is that the figures are released so late for good reason. Keeps predators in the dark, and when deals are being negotiated the other side does not know your true current financial position. This can be useful to management. Investors are left to speculate, which allows for greatly increased profits if their speculation prove correct. You have only to look at LZM and our recent buys in the 20p's earlier, if the results had been out on time the share price would never have dipped so low.

Gone just now but i think they will return once this upswing starts to top out !.

I can relax now Thanksamillion now the results are out. I never for one minute thought they would be bad it was just the time it took to get them that got underneath my skin.

A great long term hold imo.

Regards.

A good week to release good results IMO ! circa 5 months is long enough to add up how much they have spent/invested !.

Hopefully some of the new investors will make this BB a bit more active.

Thanksamillion, it is strange how you get a impression of people on these BBs. I would have put you down as a "jolly good" not "Loverly Jubbley" type of a person. ;-)

"never risk what you can not afford to loose"

But if you fancy a gamble on recovery in Zimbabwe, LZM could be worth a punt. As could MWA ! which i do not hold.

---------------------------------------------

I could not find the link for the artical David77 kindly posted about, but i did find this, also from TheTimesonline.co.uk,

20 The outside bet ... Zimbabwe The market value of stocks listed in Harare is expected to reach $5 billion (£3.1 billion) by the end of 2010 and $7 billion by 2011, against $1 billion when the market reopened in February 2009, according to King at Investec. "Last year was the first of economic growth for 14 years, and 6% growth is expected in 2010," he said. Investors can gain exposure through the Imara Zimbabwe fund, up 87% this year.

Alternatively, go for Lonzim, a UK listed development firm, up 79%
