25/5/2008 10:25 | dontyo, On 7th of May you were predicting £13.63 and even at that price NASDAQ must be interested (in your own words). Given they've just reported record results (LSE, facing up to competition and the competition (NYSE in particular) are reporting sharply down results I think its more like LSE will be making acquisitions. 25/5/2008 10:17 | £11!! hardly a premium! Suspect the author has shares and it's a ramp job. Can see these going only one way now. Looks like they'll lose their ftse place, can i hear £5 a share approaching? | dontyo
25/5/2008 07:12 | Observer running an article today that NASDAQ are to bid again... Also, Sunday Telegraph has upbeat article on LSE and Furse in particular, article at the bottom of the link... | artnouveau
23/5/2008 21:53 | Do not worry jono, LSE is on a 13 times multiple and increased profits hugely the past year, whilst this growth may slow, NYSE have announced this week a 26% fall in revenue and they're shares are still on 18/19 multiple similar to NASDAQ. Share buyback still has some way to go for LSE and there's the 30% increase in the divi. LSE looks to me the strongest out of all the exchanges, it'll either be eaten or eat someone else once it's fully digested Borsa Italia. ArtN | artnouveau
21/5/2008 19:20 | one hopes so, given my other major investment is BARC I'm really looking for a silver lining about now. | jono2000
20/5/2008 21:52 | Results will be good due to market volatility and increase in trading including Borsa Italia. Interestingly NASDAQ or any other potential acquiree of the LSE would virtually get Borsa Italia 'free' compared to the last bids 2 years ago for LSE which started at £9.50 and went up into the £14 region eventually. Worth bearing in mind. ;) | artnouveau
20/5/2008 18:49 | i've just bought to increase, and i feel good.... better than expected results share price up to 1363p apparently, can't wait. | jono2000

08/5/2008 18:40 | dontyo - how do you arrive at the 1363p figure (a very specific figure!) and when do you think it may arrive? | jono2000
08/5/2008 18:39 | OK, things looking up, about 20p up actually. Anyone want to talk-up a bid? | jono2000
07/5/2008 11:24 | I think that turquoise is becoming a concern. new trading platform which might rival sets | weemonkey
07/5/2008 11:04 | I'd say looking at the chart they're well oversold and are due a bounce to around 1363p. I suspect a nice trade for those that can catch the turn, must be in play for the Nasdaq again at this price. | dontyo
06/5/2008 23:23 | ok, true to form i bought and they dropped 3.8% on the day. up tomorrow? | jono2000
06/5/2008 16:42 | ok - i've bought some of these, which is usually the kiss of death for any given stock....... although they do seem cheap right now. | jono2000
24/4/2008 07:52 | surely someone will take feel sorry for the LSE and take this over share price is dismal needs an injection of life into it | zipper
23/4/2008 17:03 | Current Trading and Prospects The Exchange has delivered a strong overall trading performance so far this financial year. Volume growth on SETS accelerated in the period, nearly doubling as the Exchange continues to benefit from high levels of market volatility, the notable shift to high frequency trading strategies and the substantially improved execution certainty provided by TradElect, our new trading platform, which went live in June. Demand for price and trading information from both exchanges remains good. The Exchange remains confident of a good outcome for the current financial year, and looks forward to further growth in the coming year, including benefits from the combination with Borsa Italiana. The Exchange expects to announce its Preliminary results for the year ending 31 March 2008 on 22 May 2008. -------------------- from the LSE Shareholders information | zipper
