Hi C2I! I am still around. Expecting another pleasing increase in NAV.

New 52 week high any comments? Skyracer have you deserted us (fellow LAS shareholders to pastures new)?

Yes I do feel this is the beginning of a pre-results surge which will see LAS exceed 50P+. Keep the faith. 2CI.

Small rise in price today - this could be the start of a run up to the March results.

By March these shares will easily be 50+ because I don't believe the value investors will allow the nav to increase to 38% again. The nav could even fall below 30% for the first in years. IMO c2i.

Nice to see LAS hitting new 12 month highs.

I have been holding since the start of the iraq war and am showing very good gains however i have no intention to sell.

This being a small company with quality assets will always be subject to a bid
considering the dicount to NAV. The next final results will be due in march and i estimate net asset value rising to 75p ish . This would see the discount to NAV rising from the current 32% up to 38%. Also in the meantime LAS pays a yeild of 3.3%.

One to tuck away imo.

Any chance of some charts in the header now that this is about to breakout.

Well the discount to nav is still 34.2% so this is still a geat value stock for all to see. Plus a new 12 month high which is always good. Skyracer I'm sure we will find out soon enough.

Here we go again. Its either a minor institution looking to invest in value or someone like Perloff again.

I've just checked yahooo finance and LAS's average trade volume is 52,241 shares per day. Today 993,485 shares were traded. Which for you mathematician out there is a 19 fold increase. I wonder if we will get a RNS in the next 5 working days.

We (the man in the street- and not in the Square Mile)will always be the last ones to know, but with nearly 1 million shares traded today something is afoot.

Skyracer, Yes but I will be even happier when LAS's discount to nav decreases to below 20%. C2I.

Thanks for your reply Skyracer. My only concern is that although LAS owns 41.7% of BISI it doesn't currently benefit from even a 20.85% increase in tracking BISI. Why do you think we have such an anomally. TIA. C2I.

Hi contrarian2investor. LAS and BISI are nice little companies. My preference would be for LAS to remain a minority shareholder (41.7%) in BISI. RGW Mackilligan and the Heller family have built the success of BISI and the good relations with Black Wattle Colliery with skill, and I wouldnt want that balance disturbed. A LAS takeover would change the politics. The prospects for Black Wattle seem so good that LAS will benefit considerably anyway. The option remains for LAS to offer for the BISI properties at a mutually advantageous point in the future.

Skyracer as the person who started this thread, I would be interested on your views on as to whether LAS would buy the remainder of BISI that it does not already own. TIA. I personally feel this would not only be a serious enhancement to LAS's portfolio, nav but most importantly the shareprice. TIA.

Very good results considering we did not have the benefit of a £586k exceptional gain this time (only £32k). So healthy growth in ongoing profitability.

Suspicious rise today, whiff of impending tip.

Got a quote to sell @ 38p (mid) so reasonable to assume that other mids are sells. Bad that people are selling, but good that MM offering increased price. Like the girls at school, its often the quiet ones that are most worth watching!.

Now 37/39 so you're half way there!. Recent buyers paying .5 & 1p over offer certainly keen, what do they know then?. Also recall premium buying way back in the spring. Bought a few just before today's rise.

Fingers crossed.
