03/4/2012 15:44 | MMs still look to be short despite the 190k: Bid 318.5p (Max = 3750) Offer 319.98p (Max = 500) spud | spud
03/4/2012 12:24 | On a separate note...A mate of mine took his family to Legoland Windsor in this lovely Spring sunshine yesterday and said it was absolutely packed. That should be good for some early season business and get the Qbot idea into the heads of regulars on season tickets. | davidosh
03/4/2012 10:31 | Shanklin - agree re RNS. Trial alone definitely not RNSable (& may be confidential). Contract award is another matter. Thanks JonA. :0) Love the unsolicited testimonial: "I've used them myself at Six Flags and Dollywood and they work very very well." Cheers, Mark | marben100
03/4/2012 08:47 | Superb sleuthing Jon, excellent news. As EC says, the Universal parks are of course huge. Above the financial effect there's the cachet of adding Universal to the customer list - any park operators without a QBot or QBand will start to seriously question their strategy if they don't have LOQ's products in place. And it seems that once installed LOQ have that crucial stickability, with recurring income and security of tenure for a long period ahead, which investment funds absolutely love. Once a Universal trial becomes known then LOQ could issue an RNSNON - the financial effect of the trial alone doesn't have to be material, but the trial is obviously important news in itself, like the London Eye smartphone trial. That's assuming that Universal are agreeable to such PR before a more widespread installation. | rivaldo
03/4/2012 08:08 | Great find Jon. The first really well known Park other than Disney. The 'halo' effect would be enormous imo. spud | spud
03/4/2012 07:55 | I think winning the park itself would definitely be RNSable, but probably not the trial. | shanklin
03/4/2012 07:41 | shanklin, i think you are right. 2 years ago it would have had a material affect on turnover or profits, but according to the meeting last week water part turnover is 3 times higher than expected, and there are 11 of them (plus all the non waterparks), so an extra 1 park - even universal - may no longer be that game changing. A far better position than i hoped for 2 years ago ! | fft
03/4/2012 07:35 | If its a one park trial with Universal, there might be an argument that an RNS is not required. Indeed, the trial in itself may have negligible impact on LOQ's finances. Positive news nonetheless :-) | shanklin
02/4/2012 21:03 | That is very interesting. At the Proactive presentation, Tom said that he hoped to get contracts with two more of the top 10 theme park groups shortly. They already have 4 and he said it would not be Disney - Universal was one of the other 5. Universal would be huge. Unlike many of the other larger operators, who have lots of middle-sized parks, Universal just have a few huge ones. That would mean lots of demand for Q-Bots and being able to sell them at premium prices. | effortless cool
02/4/2012 20:42 | Great spot, Jon Disney next after that, I hope! | the analyst
02/4/2012 20:35 | This is very interesting, and yet no news from the company ?. Loq's qbots seen in Universal studios orlando. Jon. | jona80
02/4/2012 15:56 | MC....you may have but hundreds did not....hehe ! ShareSoc gained more members in one day than the whole of last month with peeps hoping to see Warren maybe. I still promise there will be a great buffet though... 14th June for the next Mello Central. | davidosh
02/4/2012 14:11 | Some of you may have missed this one yesterday... | davidosh
02/4/2012 13:29 | Excellent point there davidosh, I'd forgotten about that one. | itchycrack
02/4/2012 13:21 | Not to mention this is the tax year end week so watch a few small caps get hit with unexplained selling to take profits on part of holdings to balance last years losses and maximise reliefs. | davidosh
02/4/2012 12:49 | Just a healthy pullback, volume is tiny, just a minor shake out, nothing goes up in a straight line - not even the mightly Lo-Q :-) :-) Bigger players will look to 'buy on the dips' IMHO. | itchycrack
02/4/2012 12:22 | Bit of a sell off today, surprising with more, hopefully, good news to come. | pip_uk
02/4/2012 07:59 | Thanks for that riv. spud | spud
02/4/2012 07:51 | Been away for a few days, but just wanted to say thx to TB for the terrific presentation at Proactive last Thursday. Good to meet davidosh et al again too of course. Not much to report which isn't known already, though most importantly TB was as bullish as ever and happy to tease us with a great deal of potential news flow on the horizon. From my notes: - the initial water parks trial resulted in three times as much revenue as expected! - the London Eye trial will commence fully as from 1st April, and there is "more interest than LOQ can cope with" in the smartphone product - so many opportunities "outside of the leisure and attractions space" - the water parks business will make LOQ much bigger than its current size - interesting that Legoland Windsor increaseed its revenues by 30% last year despite being in its 4th year of operation, proving that even the existing model as it matures can significantly increase its size - LOQ have a number of patents (which only start to run out in 2017), and "no-one else can do what we do" - LOQ only have 15% of the potential market - excluding Disney - so there's a long way to go | rivaldo
29/3/2012 16:12 | And whilst we are in the business of thanking people, I would like to thank Glenn Borthwick for coming up with the ¨LOQ SET TO WIN MASSIVE DOLLY PARTON CONTRACT¨ thread title which forst drew my attention to this share, and to ADVFN for hosting this board and to Dolly Parton for having the foresight to introduce the QBot to her park ..... etc. etc. | orange1
29/3/2012 16:06 | Well, just sold my last 2000 shares just now and 2 days ago. Have held since 2002 and averaged 17X on the original investment which goes some way to cure the bleeding I had with Montecello, Meldex and others like it. Wish I had the foresight to have bought sub 10p, but hey ho who would have known. If this share is as predictable as is has been in the last few years then I will be back in later in the year, but no de-ramp intended and good luck to all. What a great British company this is that is doing what we should do - EXPORT. This last year has really been a blast. | father ted
29/3/2012 15:35 | Hear hear David. You can't beat hanging in there long term in order to make the really seriously big money. All those 'Traders/Punters' who think 10% is a major win, should look at some of the long-termers here who are making 20-30k each time it legs up. spud | spud
29/3/2012 14:55 | I am going to refrain from joining you guys in this bagger bragging !! However if it reaches £3.50 my Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeee will be heard in Six Flags and on Six continents....LOL I thanked everyone I could on Tuesday at the Agm but sincerely many thanks to any of the 40 or so long term employees that may read these boards. | davidosh |
