Looks like 'business as usual' with our divis. I read this as saying we're going to continue to get paid.

'Dividend

As part of the HM Treasury recapitalisation scheme, the Group was required to suspend the payment of cash dividends to ordinary shareholders until the HM Treasury Preference Shares issued as part of the scheme are repaid. In the meantime however, as we indicated in our shareholder circular last year, the Board has approved a capitalisation issue of 1 for 40 ordinary shares held.'

I was expecting a bit more upwards movement today.

Suppose some is being saved for tomorrow.

I did think of that colin, but I am not an expert so I wouldn't know how to include the charts for each of the variants. Otherwise, it does seem to be a bit of overkill to have a thread for each when they are all basically the same product.

Lord G .. why not do a LLP thread for all Lloy prefs and then place a (last)message on all existing threads to refer to the new one

Lord Gnome can you do a page for the 9.75% prefs. I think they are LLPD. Thanking you in advance.

The shares went ex-div, but as I understand it, the company can give notice to withdraw the divi up to 10 days before it is paid. My best guess is that if they are going to pass the divi they will announce it tomorrow.
NWBD divi was declared via RNS along with other divis on other prefs / bonds and the shares go exdiv next Wednesday.

has not the divi already been declared on these ?
holts

Because the divi has already been declared.

Not so - LLOY have results on Friday - if we are going to learn anything then that'll be the day.

what is the actual yield here at current price?...
diku

Nope - I read it that any div to ords has to trigger a full payment to prefs. That's why they are called preference shares - we have to have first dibs at a divi - whatever form it takes.

If ordinary shareholders received a 'dividend' in additional shares I take it that from our point of view that would be a dividend passed?

I hope they do pay the yield but don't think we should worry too much if they don't.
At some point they'll want to pay the ord share divi, at which point they have to pay us first I believe.
Therefore, we can get this brilliant yield simply by waiting 12 - 18 months:- I'm happy with that.

Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if they appreciate in value anyway from now simply because the threat of nationalisation appears to be receding.

Whilst going xd does not guarantee payment that is not the point being made, the board had an opportunity to pass on the dividend and patently have not done so.

topped up some more - OK EX Div but with the ord LLOY stabilising , seems a good risk to me.

I do expect this div to be paid ( and woould be nice) but the value will be in the recovery
