24/1/2006 09:49 | Ok time to fess up. Dumped virtually all our position the yday. The price has been rising, weve got a nice little profit and so decided to cut and run. Wanted to raise cash for other investment opportunities and because I feel that the markets are somewhat jittery and thus more opportunities may crop up inthe not too distant. Good luck to the other holders. | swalker
14/10/2005 10:45 | This is very heavily tipped in the press today and there is a substantial rise in the share price. Is there likely to be a turnaround? Opinions and comments are most welcome. js. | jacsom
12/7/2005 07:12 | Well, what a turnaround. 302.5p ex an 8.75p dividend. Bifg trades yesterday at 300p. Could we be building to some form of resolution of an MBO? Of course, the speculation re Amvescap and Aberdeen's DAM purchase wil help. The results were very solid, profitability remains good and it still looks cheap relative to the pack. | swalker
12/5/2005 13:28 | Anyone know why these guys pay themselves so much money. W | woozle1
10/5/2005 21:11 | still drifting lower, any thoughts on when it will settle | foolishboy2000
13/4/2005 07:30 | Yes, but it was not the reason I was looking for !! Agreed, I also think it will reverse, remember those split caps...... We will see | foolishboy2000
12/4/2005 15:58 | Hi Foolish - well you got your opportunity to buy at 300p. There is a big trend towards absolute returns (hedge funds) at the moment and the adviser here recommended a switch to hedges from Liontrust. The good thing is that institutional money is very low margin business, especially compared to retail. Im still very happy to hold and still expect a bid in due course. | swalker
10/4/2005 14:32 | any thoughts on the loss of funds ? Bit worrying, although I cannot remember the exact numbers, it seemed to be a big slug of the funds under management but not alot of the profits. In a sort of peverse way it is a bit of a blessing as there was talk of capacity constrains. Just a thought, plus I reckon a bid has got to come in soon. The market would seem to agree as the shares did not fall that much after the news | foolishboy2000
29/3/2005 07:26 | Cant disagree foolish. | swalker
27/3/2005 13:39 | Thanks for the post, missed that one Life in the old dog yet, strong share performance given recent fall in the FTSE. As expected nice and stronmg results, still undervalued compared to others. | foolishboy2000
24/3/2005 16:15 | Pre close Statement: Extract: 24th March 2005 Stock Exchange Announcement Liontrust Asset Management PLC Pre-Close Trading Update As at 23 March 2005, total funds under management stood at £5.205 billion. By contrast funds under management were £4.95 billion on 26 March 2004 and £2.58 billion at the same time in 2003. Core earnings therefore remain strong and are in line with market expectations. Performance has remained mixed with the Large Cap and Growth processes underperforming their benchmarks over the last year to 28 February 2005. The Value and Small Cap processes have outperformed their benchmarks over the same period. Any performance fees earned in the period from 1 January 2005 to 31 March 2005 will be disclosed in the preliminary announcement of Liontrust's results for the year ending 31 March 2005 due to be released towards the end of May 2005 but currently none are expected. | swalker
22/3/2005 17:16 | Well a bit of movement in the old shareprice over the last couple of days and some decent volumes for a change. Maybe its position taking ahead of the results but surely that is a bit too early? | swalker
02/3/2005 11:13 | Hi foolish The interims were 28 Oct last year so end of April would be the interims I would guess. Not too long now really (is it March already?). | swalker
25/2/2005 13:01 | Very interesting, the shame is the price has not budged, bit frustrating. When is the next scheduled anouncement, finals/egm etc ? Still tempted to pick up a few, but I just have a gut feeling that they will drift (I know I have been saying this for the best part of two months) | foolishboy2000
23/2/2005 16:56 | Well well, looks like there is more interest out there. Fidelity are now up to 9.35% holding. That, together with the other RNs' in the last few days makes intersting reading. | swalker
14/2/2005 20:33 | interesting, looks like it has solid institutional support. Just waiting for that drift.. | foolishboy2000
14/2/2005 11:04 | Legal & General have updated. Acquired 404326 since last notification - now hold 1803033 (5.13%) | swalker
08/2/2005 09:32 | Nothing yesterday but Zurich snapped up 195k to add to their position on Friday. | swalker
04/2/2005 20:38 | Got to be something going on here, the volume and movements are just not right. Unless it is just institutions shifting stock between them. Agreed, long term hold, but hopefully worth the wait. Will pick up more if it drops anywhere near £3, I know you think it is not going to happen, but lets hope for a low volume drift.... | foolishboy2000
04/2/2005 16:40 | Interesting trades today 100k T at 335 this morning, 125k T at 332.5 at 4 then 100k T at the close for 335p. | swalker
02/2/2005 16:57 | Good point Andy The stock is so rarely traded and not followed that it is daft having a listing really. I think that is what the management were thinking. Im happy to hold it for the long term since I think we bought at a great price relative to the potential. Compared to the other asset managers the price seems very good value. However, I dont think we will be able to hold itlong term and that an exit will emerge over the course of the year and possibly quite soon. I don thave any proof of that, its just a gut feeling (and lets face it my gut is certainly big enough). Anyway, back to business, which today has been not a lot other than winding up the rampers on SEO. A better example of pump and dump ramping you will never find. | swalker
02/2/2005 12:52 | Darron still bouncing around, on reasonable volume not sure what to make about the Zurich holding, large selling but no movement, wonder who is mopping it up ??? | foolishboy2000
28/1/2005 14:41 | Andy The cash is their cash and not the client's. Very prudently managed company. Darron BTW RNS issued. Aegon Asset Management picked up 402,158 shares (1.15%) on 21 Jan. Now holding 1,665,618 (4.76%. So that's part of the Zurich holding accounted for. Have a good weekend. | swalker |
