In terms of monetary value, as you say carefree it's difficult to pin down. Here's an attempt, very speculative I know but it's a basic stab at a figure. We know VS charge a supplier 0.5% on gross transaction over £10,000. So for ease of maths I'll use this.Taking a typical NHS trust that we know VS are working with. Central Manchester have a procurement budget of about £300m per year. (By the way look at the web page I've linked, it backs up my above post, they have a huge team just to procure items, this can be thinned down using VS.Now, I don't know how much of this is services and how much is goods. So I'm going to halve the figure. So, we have a spend of £150m per year for one trust. Let's say £100m of that spend is part of the £10k or over bracket, so VS levy a charge of 0.5% on the suppliers. This gives a £500k fee to VS for one NHS trust. At the moment VS have 9 trusts signed up. So in a simplified manner 9 x £500k (I know they're not all the same spend, but this is a basic calc) gives £4.5m revenues to VS.VS have 6.6m shares in issue. So NHS revenues as above would give £0.68 per share earnings. Typical techy company p/e of say 20 gives an share price of about £13.63.So, NHS alone could support the VS valuation alone, then there is the retail as well.

Fair point carefree, of course you are right why not buy direct from the supplier. This gets to the hear of where dropshipping came from.Think of how Amazon operate now, they are the prime dropshipping model. You go onto there website and buy goods through it. They are then sent directly from the seller, not through Amazon. So you may ask the same question, why not just buy direct from the seller and cut out the middle man (Amazon).Well, then you would have to spend time researching who sold the product you wanted, finding their contact details, speaking to them to find their price, placing and order, paying for it or dealing with an invoice. Then they need to ship it.But of course people want the easy route, Amazon works because you can you go on to their portal and in a few clicks do all of the above. In a basic sense this is exactly what VS are setting up for the NHS procurement. The value to the NHS is having all of the products under one system, cutting back on the hours spent in procurement. It's in the suppliers interest to be on the catalogue as they are then an easy option.

I dont know how to value VS, PP.

Say a trust buys medical stuff at the rate of £25k a day, using the Edge. How much would VS earn?

NHS have to buy medical stuff regardless, and the Edge helps them get it at the best rate. So instead of buying a widget from Widget & Sons in Coventry, as they have done for years as an approved supplier, they buy it from Widgetzki & Sons in Warsaw for £2k cheaper, but as a non approved seller.

The edge saves the NHS £2k in this example, but is the NHS allowed to buy from this seller, and how much of the £2k saving woukd VS earn?

Its impossible to value something without any facts!

That's another thing Phil.

If they can afford £80k on a "python developer" there must be a lot of money in it for VS.

We are talking a seriously growing company here. Maybe the IPO will be announced sooner than we think.

So once again, rather than being castigated (and I've done my fair share here), Zaf has been making things rather watertight.

I always thought LEG was severely undervalued.

Now I know.

Contrary to popular opinion, it looks as though Zaf has been working his nuts off behind the scenes, and he has nicely sealed this right up.

IBS will be letting us know pretty soon they have their licences and permissions.

Now just read through that VS document once again, and see the magic line...........

Yup, but Phil, it's the pay per click from early 2018 that will be the massive cash earner.

£10,000 per month and under - no charge to trusts.
£10,001 per month and over - then charges apply.

As I said earlier, over ten years ago, Kings Fund were spending over £10,000 per DAY on drugs.

VS have pitched their charges perfectly.

They are about to become a cash cow, and for LEG every £1 in charges is 7.2p straight to the bottom line.

Then there is IBS.............................................

Good article Phil - I do remember seeing it this summer. The word "Unicorn" sure sticks in the memory!

Big things are about to happen in the next few months to a year here.

It's a question of buying, accumulating and holding.

The MM's are soon going to have play a crafty game to get our shares.

They get (some) of mine at 1p plus, but none beforehand.

It's early days at the "Bellends" vs "Supers" football match with the "Bellends" two up.
The lead "Bellends" fan, 77 year old Cedric, is doing his best to rally the fans but failing.

All to play for !
