09/6/2024 16:55 | It means something if it's going to be a regular 1% buyback | williamcooper104
09/6/2024 16:10 | 1% of the issued shares equivalent bb? What an absolute waste of time & money. spud | spud
09/6/2024 14:26 | I suspect he's given enough away to test the water and calm some nerves. The articles mention bull annities being lucrative, and an identity problem. The sale of Cala homes may be similar to the cleanup AB did with Aviva.IIs are the ones to impress here, 50/60k LGEN shares does not put us on the board! The problem is, he may get the fit right, then Rachel Reeves does some of that Labour stupidity and manages to directly/ indirectly neuter it.GLA, time to sell if you lack faith. | rongetsrich
09/6/2024 13:36 | Perhaps the board have no plans - beyond the boring BB. | mcunliffe1
09/6/2024 13:09 | £200m in buybacks is a relative drop in the bucket at just over 1 per cent of the share count. Much more interested in the plans for the business. | nk104
09/6/2024 09:05 | Sunday Times are reporting that Legal and General will reveal a share buyback program at the strategy announcement next week. According to the paper, brokers are suggesting it could amount to about £200M in buybacks (Free to read this weekend) | cwa1
08/6/2024 11:54 | What Simões plans to do will become clear on Wednesday when he is scheduled to give a two-and-a-half-hour presentation to L&G investors in the City, following a root-and-branch review."It's the first time he's going to really be talking to the market," says Abid Hussain, analyst at Panmure Gordon. "He needs to have a plan but he doesn't need to reinvent the wheel. The business is not broken but they need to do something to get the share price going."L&G, which has 11,000 employees, is considered the biggest and best in the field, having done £14bn worth of bulk annuity deals last year, including a £4.8bn swoop for a Boots scheme covering 53,000 former shop workers.Shareholders want Simões to go deeper into this market."We think the new chief executive should be capitalising on the strength of L&G's market position, know-how, and balance sheet to take advantage of the opportunities presented," Ambrose Faulks, Artemis fund manager, says. | bargainsniper
08/6/2024 09:21 | Some interesting stats from the article :- | skinny
07/6/2024 23:08 | Itynan, as I recall this is the case with HL | tag57
07/6/2024 22:16 | Question.. what happens with automatically re-invested dividends if you have just sold your entire stake in the stock? Does it just stay in your cash account? | itynan
07/6/2024 17:14 | ii have not yet purchased my LGEN shares with the divi. I received on the 6th early morning. I find they take 2-3 days to reinvest. | mcunliffe1
07/6/2024 16:47 | Hm , thanks chief, I'd never realised that till you mentionedit. My divvi reinvest are mostly at the top of the market too, and I sus[ect that applies to most. A company I used to work for had a % investment opt in. The MM [apparently] knew when the purchase was to be each month and quoted the price accordingly, that was in the 90s, so most likely is still ongoing . In future i'll get the dosh and decide personally where the cash ends up..... | keithadaz
07/6/2024 16:30 | Div reinvested. Typically at the highest p on t today ffs. Oh well. Back to sleep till results in a couple of months. | chiefbrody
07/6/2024 16:11 | Ok thanks very much More splinters incoming but now have the means to afford the salve Anyone else as confused as I am | jubberjim
07/6/2024 15:56 | It was a hot print jubberjim so therefore causes the US market to go a little bit risk off as it means a higher for longer FED funds rate. US CPI data next week and the FED decision but no cuts soon that side of the pond. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
07/6/2024 14:17 | Pardon my ignorance if this is a superfluous question Have the much awaited payroll figures from states landed If so can someone provide update please Market hamstrung at moment as am I Thanks | jubberjim
07/6/2024 13:21 | tornado12, Apart from those you mentioned I also have quarterly divis from HFEL, ORIT, FSFL, PHP, DEC, DUKE, SOHO and NESF. | woodhawk
07/6/2024 13:15 | The share price is behaving in line with the sector today, so if there are any leaks or rumours about the strategic plan, they can’t be that bad. Personally I’d like to see a buy back with cancellations. Sure it won’t help the share price, but it’s worked after some persistence at AV. Share price and divi up, and sustainable. Perhaps a quarterly dividend, as well. | rongetsrich
07/6/2024 12:51 | I would agree makes perfect sense to avoid trading swings during ex divi dates. Only my BATS and IMB doing quarterly and one of the reasons I’m invested 👍 | tornado12
07/6/2024 11:27 | It's a shame that more companies do not pay dividends quarterly (I hold several that do), because that might alleviate some of the bigger swings in share price around dividend dates - particularly those like LGEN where one of the (only) two payments is significantly larger than the other (if payments cannot be quarterly why not then at least equalise them?). | woodhawk
07/6/2024 11:04 | Chose to add today based on a positive strategy update from our new CEO next week. This share should evolve in share price range 280-300p IMHO … GLA | tornado12 |
