02/10/2022 07:39 | Finsbury tipped by Midas in Mail on Sunday. Kiss of death!???: :-) Voila: Midas verdict: Investors considering Finsbury must decide whether they believe in Baker and Duffy's strategy and ability to get through hard times. If they do, there is much to be said for cutting a slice of the firm. The shares are trading on an undemanding seven times forward earnings and yielding 3 per cent. At this level, and with sterling weak, they could be a tasty morsel for a private equity firm or overseas rival. The company has a new credit facility too, which should help it withstand turmoil and perhaps make acquisitions of its own. Duffy believes that the firm has more savings to squeeze with the Brilliance programme as it rolls out integrated systems across Finsbury's different brands. They won't cancel out the impact of inflation, he admits, but they will help. Those with patience could benefit in the long term. Buy on current weakness. | value hound
01/10/2022 14:26 | Or return it to shareholders. I can buy my own year bonds and not pay the fees. | kinbasket
30/9/2022 18:12 | I'm pleased they're sitting on cash whilst the market is tanking. It just means that when they do start spending it on investments they are going to pay much keener prices. | arthur_lame_stocks
30/9/2022 18:06 | zoolock, I think you are mistaken in so emphatic a criticism of the directors' conduct. Surely you would conclude that the lunatic selling down of cash to a heavy discount to cash must represent an opportunity. EK | live ink
29/9/2022 21:46 | Spread is too wide and preventing trading. Not clear if LDG sold out their Caretech position or went with the reinvestment option. I hope they have sold out as cash is king at the moment | lpavlou
28/9/2022 21:54 | Still topping up. Could do with the spread narrowing. Confident to back Dbay. | lpavlou
28/9/2022 14:36 | £60k worth picked up at midday. Maybe some action ahead (he says in hope rather than expectation). | +eysenck
28/9/2022 14:02 | I think they get a big heap of cash tomorrow | ntv
28/9/2022 14:01 | They might even be earning some interest on that cash balance now | ntv
28/9/2022 12:00 | Never really checked it I will get advfn to change it | ntv
28/9/2022 10:56 | This is the correct Market cap ..£66m .Advfn today of £83m is wrong | ohisay
24/9/2022 18:31 | Picked up a few more on Friday. I expect DBay to start putting the cash to good use soon. | lpavlou
07/9/2022 20:51 | Suppose investors are nervous that LDG may bid for FF, but I see it as a buying opportunity to top-up | lpavlou
07/9/2022 18:56 | LDG continues to go down while Finsbury is going up. Strange. | tyranosaurus
06/9/2022 20:05 | Someone has been buying more FF today. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Dbay via LDG | lpavlou
06/9/2022 12:15 | For me Dbay and Fif are the reason i'm in.I remember Dbay to be in Wynnstay,in which i'm also invested. I like the investment in Fif and the price they paid for it. Enough to give them credit. | kirmich
05/9/2022 20:57 | Head above the parapet at FF. is a bid coming? | lpavlou
03/9/2022 00:07 | Whilst they are buying publicly listed stocks it's easy to put a value on it. If they decide to buy a non listed company, it's much harder to value and so we'll have to wait for an event to cash in and see what profit they've made. Be interesting to see if they up their stake jn Finsbury as they could buy the company in cash. | lpavlou
02/9/2022 12:44 | I'm not sure I want Dbay to play with my money. I think if they want to become an investment speculator of some kind they should seek shareholder approval. I'm quite capable of losing my own money on investments I don't need Dbay to do it for me. They need to either find a significant investment to make or set a timetable to return the cash and wind up the company. | kinbasket
01/9/2022 20:47 | LDG also have a 15m investment in another stock, but have yet to release the details. Seems to me that Dbay are now going to buy small stakes in what they perceive as undervalued companies. I'm happy to stick around for the ride. There is always risk in any investment, but the discount to NAV does offer some form of protection | lpavlou |
