whilst it’s an incredibly shoddy way for the DECC to act, it’s certainly brought the situation to a head and in some respects the DECC and Ryan no longer have anywhere to hide now, plus all other key elements of the licensing compliance are clearly in order and based on the support that the partners have provided to date and the individuals involved in the background, it’s perhaps created a good opportunity for those sat on the sidelines,..GL S

The DECC reasoning is spurious. Money can be raised if the licence is granted. They are way out of order in my opinion, PVR and LOGP have complied with their obligations but progress has been continuously obstructed by DECC refusing approvals. They are trying to close down the oil and gas industry in Ireland. PVR has some large Irish shareholders who may be able to bring some pressure to bear.

So at risk of losing the license due to lack of funding . Why am I not surprised .
Can't get a decent farm in partner due to the costs and risks .pretty sure I've been saying this for over a decade and now the DECC look like they have had enough waiting and are looking for a reason to take the license off them ..fat lady singing again . About time this gravy train was put out of its misery

Gas woes

Germany, the EU’s biggest economy, is also the country most dependent on Russian gas, which hampered the bloc’s ability to react more strongly to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In its rush to reduce the Kremlin’s grip on Berlin, it snapped up every molecule of gas it could find, subsidising large-scale LNG purchases with billions in free credit.

Today, Germany’s gas storage is around 87% full. But this, too, has not proven to be the most popular policy.

“The price of gas is skyrocketing. Why? Because of, actually, Germany buying a lot of gas after July 23rd when they said this is the second phase of the alarm,” explained Nils Torvald, a liberal EU parliamentarian from Finland, at an EURACTIV event on Tuesday.

“That’s hurting a lot of our member states, quite a lot,” the Fin added.

I would suggest that interest is not too far away, Eamon Ryan has confirmed today that Ireland will be progressing gas storage to enhance Ireland’s energy security and proposals will be put forward in the next few weeks and the approach and plans will be specific to Ireland’s requirements and not for the benefit of a developer, plus with Ireland’s aversion to most forms as LNG (fracked gas) this could open the door for increased production from Corrib and also other indigenous assets like Barryroe to produce gas, that is directed to those storage facilities,…GL S

It is interesting to note the release of the National Energy Security Framework document today from the DECC, it certainly appears that Ryan and his colleagues in government are finally waking up to the fact that cohesive plans are required for alternative and secure supplies of oil and gas, this will hopefully add some further substance to the follow up meeting with Minister Michael McGrath and Providence, to discuss the development of Barryroe,…GL S

Eu should stop all deliveries of oil and gas from Russia , set a short term date of 3 months and really pull out the stops to survive without Putins oil and gas .
