Happy New Year to LDR investors - promising start!
Posted at 03/8/2006 10:11 by xavico
methinks the drop is for the benefit of the larger buyers. They succour in pis to buy and then shaft them only to sell the same shares to the larger investors.

MMs we know your nasty little tricks.

Im gonna leave this a while in case it is a bear trap ie hike the price up to get in unsuspecting investors only to drop it back down again in little trickles

Just spoken to the company:

John Moxon is a former non-exec director who did not stand for reappointment recently. So he knows the Company and is happy to accumulate is significant amounts.

John Marsh is an investor who again is building up his stake.

The Company has recently had a reshuffle and people are keen to impress in their new roles.

The company has in the past year expanded into Spain & Germany and things are looking promising.

Interims will be some time in October.

Knitcraft - I agree with you. The share price is being held back. Short to medium term this is very good news as the mms will realise they got a nice little earner in this one.

suggest all potential investors and or holders recheck the viability of the current business model especially in light of the growth of low cost airlines and internet booking.

[Statutory warning:- This comment is not intended as a buy or sell recommendation just a suggestion that you DYOR)

I too watched and was about to sell at 350 - but backed out, so well done to you two guys.

This was at 350p on 15th April and since then it has dropped 22% on a total volume of less than 40,000 shares !!! Crazy - 40,000 shares traded over 2-3 weeks (representing trades valued at about £120,000) knocks £4m off the Cap of this stock.

If there was bad news the volumes would be higher, this to me is simply reflecting a low cap stock with no news flow, lots of small investors who are now bored waiting. We need to wait until run-up to 10th June for the Interims before we get any movement.

Only hoping the small sellers are not staff who know something we don't !!

FRISBYD,

The way I look at it, LDR taught me a very valuable lesson about the nature of risk which hopefully makes me a better investor today and it helped me crystalise my trading strategy.

I've thought about geting out of the markets but there are still good companies out there worth looking at. Take a look at ITF, or GLI both are great growth stories and both trading at reasonable prices.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Did buy LDR for the free cruise deal. However I always put or call the stops I have decided on, LDR hit its stop and I bailed out, and now there is no free cruise...hmmm..
Now wondering what the offer for the free cruise was all about. If you make such an offer to shareholders you should have the funding or system to achieve this. One of them has failed. The other possible reason is to attract investors and raise the share price prior to a share placing for more funds.
It all seems verry worrying now but still interested in the company..so I'll watch from the sidelines to see what happens.

Good luck all.

"Chief executive David Lyne defended the company's decision not to have alerted the market earlier. 'We only realised the extent of the problems at the end of March and early April,' he said. 'We took the advice of our nominated advisor [Evolution Beeson Gregory] that it was not necessary to notify the market."

Nice to know they are looking after investor interests and no need to keep them informed.

Citywire Verdict:

This is not the first time Landround has caught the market on the hop. There is bound to be some bitterness about failure to alert investors to the problems it was facing, hence the sharp fall in the price today. The company will remain out of favour for some time

I agree with Citywire verdict.

"Makes you wonder if there are any thinking investors around..." - and therein lieth the problem. Most punters are not investors but traders, in and out, no research, a lot of them don't even understand fundamentals much less how to sense a bargain, so they are reduced to chasing shares up - and selling when they fall. Mystifies me how they make any money doing it.
