08/7/2014 12:51 | I'm in too, the price is right for me, interim results 12,8,14 With all the big events going in bookies favour the 6% dividend could be increased, also PTEC could start adding again, looking good for a £1.60 breakout IMO R2 | roofer2
08/7/2014 11:20 | I am in. Betting feast over the last couple of months: World Cup Wimbledon Snooker Grand National to name a few Target £1.50 not immediately though. GLA | cantrememberthis2
08/7/2014 07:36 | IMO all bookies have had a fantastic World Cup in brazil, Lets not forget they will have had a great money maker with Wimbledon too, many favourite knocked out early, back on my Radar at these prices, would like it more in low £1,30s R2 | roofer2
25/6/2014 07:54 | If France win it that will be a good result, cos they nearly didn't make it after 2-0 down after first leg of playoffs. | rcturner2
25/6/2014 07:25 | Italy out too. | casholaa
25/6/2014 05:31 | World Cup probably good so far, Spain and England losing. Probably have to hope Brazil do not win it. | rcturner2
24/6/2014 22:47 | interesting couple of weeks approaching on the chart. Looks like it could breakout. Current intraday movements also indicate some strength and signs that LAD is trying to move upwards. Regular rise in the morning before it drifts back after lunch. | romeoandjuliet
18/6/2014 16:45 | requiring 135 | neilyb675
16/6/2014 15:47 | market wobbling today, start of a correction imo | neilyb675
16/6/2014 12:23 | Refinancing done. | nod
04/6/2014 19:16 | I hold both lad + wmh. Not really a 'betting' person so the feel of these places was out of the ordinary for me. | casholaa
04/6/2014 18:04 | I think the TV ads is a way of trying to appeal to a younger audience and modernised LAD, it does have a old man feel about it. They are changing tho. | neilyb675
04/6/2014 17:58 | Casholaa 4 Jun'14 - 17:22 - 1100 of 1100 0 0 Also looks like WMH is going to be relegated into the 250 from the 100. ___________________ good. I am holding free LAD shares (de-risked) with a view to topping up if and when if returns to £1.30 | neilyb675
04/6/2014 17:22 | Also looks like WMH is going to be relegated into the 250 from the 100. | casholaa
04/6/2014 17:19 | Funny you say that. I've been looking at the various bookies in my locality and can say that Coral have quite a modern feel about them. Ladbrokes, William Hill and Paddy Power feel like traditional bookies and the lighting inside seems a little dull or subdued. For me the online customer support and phone customer support of Ladbrokes feel and sound like dingy bookies. Just not corporate or modern enough. Paddy Power earlier this week couldn't help me with bets they were offering online. They have this lcd screen with a few extra bets but the online offering isn't available in-store. | casholaa
04/6/2014 16:53 | No, I bet online with Coral, lol | neilyb675
04/6/2014 12:09 | Any of you guys opened an online account with LAD yet? It's easy to open an account but they don't send out confirmation/securit It was difficult to find the page I wanted for the world cup bets. Yes, I have placed some bets -odds were also a lot better than Paddy Power. Anybody placed any World Cup bets? | casholaa
04/6/2014 11:21 | Anyone stag the new (LAD2.LB) bond issue? | raysor
01/6/2014 17:43 | There is that. Means the cannot lose. Of course it is a game of catch up but the ladbrokes brand is massive and just needs to be exploited properly. Hills make a lot more money outside of het hit UK lad is also very high roller dependent. Anything could happen to that income but appears to be well managed and I assumed hedged. I have been buying for the dividend which is looking in danger or falling or being cancellened but IMO is not in says much danger as the city has priced in. Still looking for a take out between two pounds and 2.50. Be a nice return and in her gg meantime dividend is decent and downside risk minimal. The PTEC effect will kick in at some point as well | trentendboy
01/6/2014 11:20 | PTEC's investment in LAD shares was 37 million pounds. Not a trivial sum. Sagi is a certainly gambling man.I think the turnaround at LAD will take longer than with WHO, simply because LAD are now a few years further behind the rest. PTEC will need to find something special that can draw customers away from WHO and other online casinos. When you think about it, PTEC is competing against PTEC both online and increasingly in the high street. | nod
01/6/2014 08:23 | Agree with that post. 3 percent is not a massive holding but a nice little stake to make a profit on. Interesting the buy was at 170. Take out price would be above that I am sure. I am confident that PTEC will turn lad around | trentendboy
01/6/2014 03:02 | I was having another look at the analyst comments when PTEC bought 3% off Schroders who were LADs biggest shareholder in October 2013. PTEC paid 170p and Schroders obviously happy to sell at that price. The logic is that this was just a speculative hedge by PTEC (Sagi) and PTEC is unlikely to bid for LAD as it would make it difficult to sell services to LADs competitors if PTEC owned LAD. On the other hand PTEC may forgo UK sales and develop LAD into a global force. "One City source said the stake buying was a "typical Sagi move. He wins either way. If Playtech turns round Ladbrokes, the shares go up. If not, it'll get bid for and he can always sell out to a bidder." Ivor Jones, an analyst at Numis, pointed out that it could be tough for Playtech to launch its own bid. "It might be commercially difficult for Playtech to become an operator in a market where it provides key services to what would then be its competitors," he said. | nod
31/5/2014 18:31 | Interesting to see CVC mentioned as the private equity company running the rule over LADs. Well and truly in play. | trentendboy
29/5/2014 16:50 | No chance at those prices. At least 225p if not 250p. | rcturner2
29/5/2014 16:45 | LAD must be well and truly "in play" now. Private equity or some combination. 180 might be enough but more likely 200 to take this out with an offer. | trentendboy |
