15/6/2018 18:00 | Interesting post borrowed from LSE. RE: Funding. The gross margin issue is misunderstood by many investors. When Koovs sell a product in a standard transaction they make a normal retail margin. However, they have to commit to large minimum orders from their suppliers which, in the past, has led them to have to mark down more stock than they would like at the end of the season thus creating a negative gross margin in the p&l. The "theory" is that as the volumes build and new customers like Souq.com are introduced the level of discounting should be reduced and this in turn should feed through to the operating profit. Businesses like Koovs are all about operating leverage, they want 1m customers per month regularly visiting their site and ordering goods from their low cost warehouse without the overhead of high cost retail stores. The problem is that to create that leverage they have to spend heavily on marketing to attract and retain that customer base. The problem here is that they vastly underestimated the amount of capital that they required at the outset and they are now in a situation where they have invested a lot of money (our money) but need a lot more capital from institutional investors to get the business to where they need it to be. | jamesto2
15/6/2018 16:51 | Maybe Harebridge could explain ? My only worry is that in August if Koovs only raise 22m of the full 50m funding requirements? Share price may stay in this range for a few years until the full funding is complete. Also what if next year Koovs take over a year again to get the next round done ? Then what. They will miss out on growth again.Maybe As Lord Alli is Indian they do things the Indian way ? We are never given much detail in the few RNS 's we receive each year. | hotaimstocks

14/6/2018 22:26 | On the 31st August if Koovs are still in funding talks Lord Alli will loan Koovs another 1.5 million so the funding talks can continue. When your talking about a substantial amount Koovs will probably need more time to agree terms of the funding.( Lord Alli will only take money when needed & not a penny before as that money would be expensive.) | jamesto2
14/6/2018 20:54 | Question re Funding. Hi Koovs people, there is a lot of talk here about the funding like it is the holy grail to save this company , why is funding such a dead cert to save Koovs now, when all previous money wasn't enough and as I understand Koovs makes no margins at present? This is not actually meant to be a dig, more an honest question. | hotaimstocks
14/6/2018 17:03 | Some good news at last - KOOVS are doing a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE! on 4,456 different items. | jamesto2
14/6/2018 16:45 | Harebridge do you think Lord Alli of KOOVS will wait until August to let us know how much of the 50m will be raised ? We actually don't need any funds until 31st August/1st September? So I'm not expecting news before then . KOOVS just need to grow sales & margin, marketing & it's boom time in India.Maybe Koovs have improved. | jackson83
14/6/2018 11:06 | Both the sisters were together in Rome where Taapsee was shooting for a campaign with online fashion destination Koovs.com, which she immensely enjoyed. "The kind of looks I wanted to put together to the way I wanted to do the shots, there was a lot of freedom, all that made me feel more like I was on a holiday," said the actress who has been styled in the latest Koovs collection as she takes on Rome.Http://www.free | harebridge
14/6/2018 06:57 | I agree that nothing has changed, apart from the fact that many more people now have KOOVS on their radar. I liked the quote from Warren Buffet yesterday, The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient. – Warren Buffett And one of my own Don't get mugged by the market, its only a real loss or gain when you sell. | jackson83
14/6/2018 05:02 | Only a fool will sell today .. Lord Alli has 200m in the bank and will be investing a large amount of that over the next few years. | jamesto2
14/6/2018 04:54 | I won't be selling a single share as this will go up 200% when the RNS re funding lands . Billion pound company soon. | jamesto2
13/6/2018 18:38 | The people who sell now will miss an opportunity of a lifetime as Koovs are on the way to becoming the Amazon of India. | hotaimstocks
13/6/2018 18:28 | Taapsee Pannu None of this would be happening if KOOV's future was in doubt. There is enough money to last till August. Lord Ali will not take on the funding till then, to avoid paying interest. I will be loading up & buying a lot more before August. | hotaimstocks
