01/2/2011 15:43 | Sooooooooo.......a 635 share sell makes us down 4p.....aye right.... | tailgunner2
01/2/2011 12:20 | AND more new products recently too,but I agree ljsquash,never a mention of KIOTECH.......the frustration continues. | spekky
01/2/2011 11:31 | And yet not one mention of the parent company? Good find though Spekky! | ljsquash
01/2/2011 10:36 | Five new staff at Optivite.........loo | spekky
28/1/2011 09:30 | Encouraging that share price has broken through the down trend that has been in place since Oct'10. If it holds, we can expect a good uptick in the near term....toes as well. | angler
28/1/2011 08:46 | angler I get frustrated like everyone else here, but,I think yesterday demonstrated that the b.o.d. have at last recognised the need to be more proactive in moving the valuation forward.I'm looking for serious capital growth (the dividend is a bonus) and even at an share price twice what it is today,I will still think there is room for improvement........r | spekky
27/1/2011 21:59 | spekky: I guess cancelling would, effectively, be the same as selling at the prevailing market price on the date of cancellation. However, like me (and you?), they're in for the long and profitable long term. | angler
27/1/2011 20:30 | angler IMHO selling is not an option, today they have simply sent a message to the market that management believe they are being UNDERVALUED,would any company send the opposite message by selling their own shares........I doubt it,The treasury shares will eventually be cancelled IMHO. | spekky
27/1/2011 20:16 | What are the options for treasury held shares. Presumably they could be cancelled, but can they be sold on the open market at prevailing bid price? A tidy profit could be made in a few months time if this is permissible. | angler
27/1/2011 19:38 | Well,a better end to the day than of late and,it goes some way to prove that KIO does at least have a pulse. Now if we can just get it breathing normally there's a chance of a healthy life. | spekky
27/1/2011 13:47 | I presume these 235000 shares are the Invesco shares that were sold earlier, or is that too simplistic? If so it gets rid of the stock overhang and to my mind is a good opportunistic use of capital. This is a small long term, 'put in the bottom drawer and forget for a while' investment for me. Held it for a year or so and I like what the management have done so far. Buying the long leasehold interest in their HQ was well timed and I think this share buyback is another good decision. I'm not so sure about the share consolidation but I am hoping that the fundamentals of this business will shine through. Waiting for the prelim announcement with interest. | nivison
27/1/2011 12:29 | Just in case some peeps dont know why companies do these buybacks. | spekky
27/1/2011 11:21 | Last years close period did not start untill mid Feb....... I would think that they were prohibited from buying in advance of todays news but not now its out in the open.Lets see what happens next...... | spekky
27/1/2011 11:17 | We must surely be in a close period with preliminary announcement expected within a couple of weeks. So no BOD activity allowed. | blenkinsop2
27/1/2011 10:42 | ljsquash...agree with your 806 Next question is, if the company thinks it prudent to buy its own stock at these levels, why are the individuals on the BOD not doing likewise? | spekky
27/1/2011 10:34 | I'm hoping its the start of something significant in terms of newsflow. Its a first for KIO so my question would be ,is it a one-off? Hopefully we'll get an update which clearly shows the intent behind that transaction. | spekky
27/1/2011 10:27 | So having bought on the cheap any increase back towards £1 adds to the bottom line. A good use of funds and almost unheard of on AIM. | ljsquash
27/1/2011 09:18 | Presumably that was the trade yesterday for 70p a share just after hours. Certainly seems like a good way to spend a small fraction of the spare cash. | blenkinsop2
27/1/2011 08:13 | FINALLY......A clear message from the company IMHO.If Invesco and others want to sell, they are making a mistake. At some point any shares that KIO buy to hold in treasury will ultimately be cancelled with a corresponding pro rata increase in the size of dividend.Obviously I am now expecting a positive trading update,if it were negative.why buy shares now? Just my opinion.I have dipped another toe in this morning for a little top-up (on Plus). | spekky
26/1/2011 16:45 | Well a large sell (delayed?) has appeared after close with no effect on todays share price So,was it really a sell? Is this another reduction by Invesco? | spekky
26/1/2011 10:01 | Could this drop simply be a result of oversupply in the market following Invesco's sale? It does look very cheap, p/e of 7.5, a yield of 1.1%, cash in the bank, someone's got to notice at this price surely. | nivison
26/1/2011 08:36 | It generally pays to be patient so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.I am hoping they're far too busy on acquisition matters to worry about appeasing restless investors (guilty as charged).Taking out the 2009 sale of Ultrabite the 2010 performance should be eye-catching.......f | spekky
26/1/2011 07:35 | Year end was 31 December. Last year they issued a useful 'performance update' on 9 February...full results had to wait to late April. PIs in the dark either grit their teeth awaiting a trading statement in a week or so, or stand aside. It could equally be a tree shake to release nervous shares, or insider selling on expected poor news. | jon l |
