I really think that an occasional bit of news from the Company, via either RNS or their moribund website, would do something to guard against this kind of share price plummet. The next thing we will read here is the thought that bad news has leaked out to the big boys leaving the PIs hung out to dry. My personal view is that this is a small company in an important segment, virtually debt free, profitable and with a good year about to be reported. However, share prices are dictated by what the future is thought to hold, not by past achievements. Can we foresee a serious downturn for KIO? I can't.

Relatively speaking, the share price is lower than it was 3 years ago - outrageous for a company that has made so much progress!

I think some wider issues with the economy have brought many shares down today. Here at KIO I think it may be Invesco selling again....dissapointing but an opportunity too if your of the opinion that Instis dont always call it right (they dont).

speckky .... the share price is looking more attractive to me now. I see this pull back is a buying oppertunity for watchers like me. What is your take on commodity prices (grains/feeds) as an infuence on KIO? Does KIO anything to gain or lose on world grain prices?
Thanks in advance.

Very interesting. These type of action plans often lead to actual legislation throughout Europe.I think poultry farmers will be knocking on KIOs door in greater numbers.............for this product......

EDIT.....I hope that first article doesn't turn you all into vegetarians..... ;-)

Thanks, Spekky. I missed this probably because I was abroad for several weeks starting 13th Oct! It is a very upbeat and public statement of the management's view of the company future over the next couple of years and if it is to be believed, I am surprised that the P/E ratio is still so low. There is usually a considerable time lag between the company performance reaching the level justified by the P/E ratio which is driven by investors' anticipation of future performance. This does not seem to me to be the case here!

The forecasts are contained in this document which was a Proactive presentation in OCT. last year....

Spekky - I haven't seen a forcast for the dividend myself but at the level you mention it seems as if the dividend will be determined by the same payout ratio as last year (12.2%). Surely the only justification for keeping it this low is to build a "war chest" for acquisitions. So I would expect a statement about that to accompany the dividend declaration.

The forecast divi is 1.38p,I dont think that will grab the attention of many. However, I do agree that an acquisition will make people take notice.Holding on to their cash is a waste of time but obviously I'd prefer that they are diligent in their search for the right bolt-on company.

I think we may need wait to see what dividend is declared in April (I think)before the share price moves much - it may move if we get a clear preliminary statement in February. If the dividend continues its upward movement and particularly if there is a good hike from the last level (taking into account the 23:1 consolidation) then the chances are that the share valuation will follow suit. If this doesn't happen and there is no announcement of another acquisition, then the price will drift around again and probably down. But I agree, as tg2 says, "there is so much going for this company".

There is so much going for this company.....but pr isnt very good....and lack of news in a share and it tends to drift down.....need news or an aquisition....but there again....we have fallen so far recently, that any good news will just take us back to where we were......and we get no real benefit from that good news.......

You're absolutely right. The announcement of consolidation was "writing on the wall".

Something going on here. Huge volume of shares changed hands in a day, equivalent to 5m shares in old (pre-consolidation) numbers. Is the price marked down a bit to give someone a leg in?

An acquisition IS imminent if this article is correct.

And from interims.......
We look forward with confidence backed by a strong balance sheet and cash position, which allows us to consider further acquisition opportunities to broaden our product and geographic spread and enhance shareholder value.

Well, I think the problem with the share price here is that very few know of the company. I have been actively investing for over ten years in growth companies and have only recently stumbled across KIO. Trading at 10x this years earnings which is 12 months away seems reasonable to me for a £15m Mcap company. The PEG is attractive to growth investors as is the earnings history but almost quarter of Mcap in cash would be better put to use increasing ROCE via an aquisition. I am tempted to buy but would be much happier if I thought an aquistion was imminent. Organic growth will probably be quite small so if the share price is to get a multiples re-rating it will mostly come from future aquisitive growth not what has happened over the past year.

Nothing in similar sector mainly PINN, AFE, SGO, ANGM, WBN, GTL, GOO, TMC but all all been held long term while trying to recoup losses.
All starting to move in the right direction at last.

Just know what it's like on the bad days and venting that to a CEO came be very therapeautic and sometimes informative if you ask the right questions?

Spekky I have a lot of respect for all your research, but in the last fortnight I have seen some strange behaviours on a number of stocks on AIM. Such as not seen in the last 6 or 7 years.
