Apologies for what I can see (2hrs later) might appear to be a rant.Let me just say that the start of your second sentence just sums up the problem ie."The company has said or done nothing".I have communicated to this bb over a lengthy period for example that KIO/Optivite have launched this or that new product. You have to agree that most companies who launch a new product that is expected to be significantly earnings enhancing will generally issue RNS,what happens here? You have to discover it for yourself. Registration of Aquatice (in Thailand) for fin fish was mentioned in passing sometime after it actually happened..........WOEFULL AND INEPT.

EDIT...BTW....I will not lose sight of the potential here but R.E. needs to take his head out of the clouds and communicate.

While I agree completely with the gripe about the lack of communication with shareholders,I think we are in danger of blaming the company for short term changes in share pricing. The company has said or done nothing that can account for the sudden and bizarre drop in the share price over the last few days. So I rather think this may be an example of share price manipulation rather than a movement driven by the market. My conspiracy theory is that this could be an attempt to spook the PIs into selling at a low price before the preliminary results are published which I believe will indicate that the share price should be in exess of 100p.

"Management team has options on 10% shares in issue. Performance
conditions are at 126.5p, 161p, 207p and 276p."

I'll console myself with the thought that they will not be getting any "freebies" anytime soon the way this is going AND i will try to resist the obvious short version of our CEOs name,Richard Edwards (think about it).

Yes, they're like Trappist monks. All we know is that the Company is looking to spend its cash on acquisitions. """I shall do such things, what they are yet I know not.""". I'm not sure that I'm going to wait to find out.

Well if last year is anything to go by we should have a performance update soon.Hopefully it will be enough to maintain my patience which is wearing a bit thin these days.Last communication was way back in October, dreadful, they cant even claim there's other news on the website..... :-(

There is supposed to be one of those celebrity chef programmes commencing a run at 9pm tonight dealing with the sustainability issues around the fishing industry You never know,it might focus some attention here.

welcome fegga

The first time was in January if memory serves,so you never know, she's the one who knows how the figures pan out.I will be dissapointed (am dissapointed) that they haven't put their hands in their pockets yet to prove to us what a good idea the consolidation was,its definately sorted the spread issue (NOT...sorry for shouting).
Anyway, despite everything I'm holding onto a good profit and can only see good things coming........eventually.

Thanks, Spekky, I thought there was something a bit odd about this. Was there ever a link in the past? Having the same trading/product name is odd and it seems one is trading in products for human consumption and the other in products (with presumably similar purpose) for farm animals.

Vitrition is an Optivite brand, BUT, there is also Vitrition (based in Liversedge, West Yorks) who produce healthfoods for human consumption, they are not connected to KIO/Optivite.

Did any of you see this dated 19th November?

I have to admit that I have never looked at the Vitrition website ( certainly worth a look as it opened my eyes to a side of Kiotech activity I was only vaguely aware of.

I think we have cause for optimism!

Bodes very well for KIO (Optivite especially)......

"Meanwhile, the Chinese government is also poised to implement stricter enforcement to reduce the use of antibiotics use in animal feed. As a result, the probiotics industry is experiencing linear growth with rising popularity among consumers and favourable policy supports.
"Advancement in production techniques and the gradual standardization of industry practices have laid the foundation for more dairy and animal producers to embrace probiotics."

EDIT....Happy New Year all.

hedge

Thanks for that, just watched it on the iplayer,no wonder obesity is such a problem in the USA,they're all pumped up with growth hormone and antibiotics which they get through the food they eat.Thankfully Europe has largely outlawed those techniques.A disturbing programme indeed.......

The Optivite plug is at 29min and 55secs on the timeline if anyone wants to see it.Definately an "in yer face" plug, you hear the phrase "higher standards of animal welfare" and you see the bag of Optivite.............NICE ONE ;-)

It'll be on the iPlayer if you missed it.

KIO don't do fertilizer but its just an example of how agricultural commodities are rising in price. As grain becomes more expensive, inevitably, so will the additives that are needed to protect it.
I agree we should see a cracking set of full year figures and look forward to an acquisition early in 2011.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL

I am puzzled as to why the price has dropped today when there have been no visible trades and very few (I believe) for the preceding several days especially as we are looking forward to some reasonable results (I think!). Do the MMs have a large number from some previous deal they want to get rid of?

I presume that feed and feed additives become more important to the farming industry when the animals are deprived of their natural fodder by weather such as exists currently in the UK.The downside of course is that deliveries to more remote areas could be impossible.I guess meat prices might be higher soon :-(

Further thought. I think Edwards made this pretty bullish statement because he was confident that he could publish good final results (year ends 31st Dec).

Have a look at -

interview dated 4th October 2010.

Richard Edwards makes some arm-waving estimates of expected turnover and the aim to increase profit by £1M in the short term (I presume).
