Spekky - re holders and round numbers - totally agree with you! Whether it is an age thing or simply psychological, I don't know.

I am about to look in detail again at the last annual report to try and disentangle the three months of Optivite from the Kiotech contribution. I am prompted to do so because based on my memory, I believe Optivite may have performed worse in those three months than in the previous period based on the data we were given for the period running up to the takeover. If I am right, unless this trend has been reversed, next week's results may prove to be a disappointment (despite the up-beat statements we have been given). If the trend has been reversed, we may be treated to a substantial increase in gross profit for the first half next week and maybe a corresponding movement in the share price.

There's probably only one course of action (post results) for the BOD to convince most of us that this is a good idea.......lets see if they do the right thing.

Agree ljsquash,

Uneven amounts always lead to shares being lost to the investor, despite having been paid for in full. I too have lost money through consolidation, and therefore I am opposed to it.

23 could too depending on how the share price reacts next week.

And 25 would have given the £1 target.

I'm sure most holders prefer to hold nice round numbers of shares so I was thinking more a factor of 20 or 25 which still leaves folk like me with a pretty simple number to remember (its an age thing probably)........:-)

23 divides into 420.9 million exactly 18.3 times. 23 is indeed an odd number but to keep things neat and tidy, the only other options would have been to choose 3 which divides 140.3 (too much) or 69 which divides 6.1 (possibly too small)

Agreed still keeps it sub £1, so mm's can fleece it all the way back to 4p!

Can't say I've been involved with any but am aware of what happened at TAN recently, however the story there was already a bit of a basket case when the consolidation went through.Next weeks financials will determine whether I stick or fold.

Every share consolidation I have been involved in has cost me money, so I am firmly against this proposal.
Just had the full document in the post.

Yes,taken together with the recent appointments it looks likely that KIO are preparing for something significant, perhaps another acquisition?..... we'll get some clues next week maybe.

It's certainly a confident, long-term decision.

Presumably this is going to save KIO a lot of money in the future,

"security of tenure on which to make long term investment decisions and will be earnings enhancing."

Can't see the justification for a rise back to 4p bid unless they're trying to tempt sellers out.

4p bid always seems to attract sellers (who never get 4p BTW)....frustrating indeed.
