17/7/2008 08:59 | Todays announcement hardly inspires, from one ailing company to another. Will Kingfisher ever get their act together? | sheps2
12/7/2008 10:52 | Quite right to be a sell, the only real value left is its property assets and they will have to be re-valued. Hanging out the white flag will come, specialising in Home Improvements was always a disastrous move, history has shown that its only a boom industry a few years out of 10. | sheps2
11/7/2008 15:23 | Well blame Goldman for the weakness...they put a Sell on KGF yesterday ahead of trading update in 2 weeks... | diku
09/7/2008 18:35 | Mustyair, only a few things ever consistently fall , one is the rain, the other Kingfisher. It wont be long before A&L will be hitting the headlines and more queues in the High Sts. | sheps2
09/7/2008 17:16 | I was wrong about BB. it went up 27% today! Never mind puffin1 there will be safer times to risk our money eventually. I agree with you Sheps2 the update could be nasty, a stout heart and strong underwear will be essential. | mustyair
09/7/2008 16:49 | It will joining the likes of DSG and Barratt soon, if you thought M&S results were poor wait til you see Kingfishers update. Jump in now bears, down to 65 p within 2 weeks looks on to me. | sheps2
08/7/2008 19:13 | Hi puffin1, Keeping dry isn't easy this summer ! Any trading in this market is very risky, BB down another 20% today and for all we know could rise by the same amount tomorrow. A trade in these conditions is pure gambling, topping up at "low" prices is not in my opinion a good strategy but if you read the bank message boards that is what people have been doing for months. "Buy low sell high" is their motto. "Wait for sunnier skys" is mine and it could be a long wait. For KGF the update on the 24th july may result in a big swing in price, if i was a betting man, down would be my choice, but who knows, its a crazy world. Only good news today is that the oil price has dropped a bit, down $10 or more from its high. bon chance. | mustyair
08/7/2008 08:55 | Hi Mustyair, Bit drastic with the plunge pool but then again there must be quite a lot of pain around with the market still dropping,So for now anyway i will keep dry and watch and who knows i might buy some if a rally looks on ! | puffin1
08/7/2008 08:35 | Plunge pools, if they dont stock them already they should do - troubled investors might want to go in head first. Looking back to the last crunch around 1990, it was not too long before KGF started pulling out of the dip -set chart to quarterly candles and zoom out. History may repeat itself but this time the burden of debt carried by company and customers may take more shaking off. Short term still looking for a rally before going down to 76p or lower. | mustyair
08/7/2008 08:02 | well at this rate the share price will be 80p by end of week ! | puffin1
04/7/2008 09:43 | It will be lucky to survive, it never made any headway during the good times let alone now | sheps2
04/7/2008 07:49 | Must be due a bounce sometime soon, would not like to say when, but trend is still down. MKS took a smack on wednesday after update, hope KGF has better news in 3 weeks time. | mustyair
30/6/2008 08:07 | Waldron All makes great reading but Only the price matters, it can be turned into cash. If you have a go at runners- at the back end of year dig out a trench a good foot deep, and load it up with old grass cuttings, garden compost etc ,they dont need nitrogen just something to hold moisture. put the soil back on top and your ready to go in spring. If you have a greenhouse bring them on in old toilet roll tubes filled with peat compost, plant out when think frost free. Eat them when they are a quarter of the size of supermarket ones and there are no strings. | mustyair
28/6/2008 05:26 | enjoy your weekend and those veggies this year the figs, courgettes, toma extraordinary well. will plant some runners next year. | waldron
27/6/2008 19:34 | Ps I hate wimbledon, thankful to have a computer and a vegie plot in the garden - runner beans are living up to their name this year! | mustyair
27/6/2008 14:53 | SKYSHIP. If you find out do you mind posting the info ? | puffin1
26/6/2008 18:39 | All this company really deserves for its catalogue of errors and poor management over the last 10 years is a few of its own B&Q wooden spoons. | sheps2
26/6/2008 18:27 | All this talk about The Home Depot buying them is as old as the dinosaurs, who would want to buy a pup. Kingfisher shareholders have had 10 years of misery, all because they thought home improvements was going to be a growing sector, well even when times were good they were a poor performer, what hope have they now? | sheps2
26/6/2008 16:33 | "One indicator of this is a £250m bond that matures in 2014. This bond is trading at 79p in the pound and the current redemption yield is 10.3%. " Anyone know how that bond can be bought - or perhaps even its EPIC? | skyship
26/6/2008 16:10 | Hello Mustyair, Just in from the sunny but windy garden, funny you should mention 76p as perhaps the bottom as i was looking at 80p but then in this market who knows although i did get rid of my latest buys at a profit and i will pick up some more if the tea leaves look OK in this market it,s the best i can do ! Hope your still in profit Cheers Puffin1. | puffin1
26/6/2008 07:57 | Came out again late yesterday as worried about what may happen next, 'plumbing' new depths is not going to encourage the bulls. They have tried this past week but their efforts have failed. Good news bad news, nothing seems to matter only the price. The overall out look is so gloomy, just be grateful KGF doesn't own a bank. Bears could now take it down to any round number, 100p or even next fib extension at about 76p. Any thoughts puffin1? | mustyair |
